    Hi Albert

Please take a look at this video. https://jmp.sh/IsqcfsX

In this video I am discussing with you on this topic and going over each post you have linked. I believe we need to carry out a test to create evidence for the hypothesis in these posts.  When we have some evidence, we can definitely look into this issue.

Hi KC Thanks for your prompt reply. Sad that the various developers providing feedback over the last couple of years are not considered evidence. So I'm making the effort to add to the evidence. 1. Brizy has resulted in a 12GB database for our non-ecommerce site. This is after using a couple of plugins for optimisation. 2. What Brizy leaves behind are logs that range from 300MB to half a GB and growing. I believe Brizy wants us to manually delete the past Brizy logs eg ypivbm_wp_brizy_logs? (see below). Why can't the old logs be automatically removed?

    Hi Albert,

12 GB database is far beyond normal for a Brizy based non-ecommerce WordPress website. If you want us to take a look and see why this could be happening, we can.

If you want me to take a look, please add me as a user to your WordPress Dashboard. My email: kc.george@brizy.io. Please enable the option "Send the new user an email about their account" as in this screenshot https://jmp.sh/tSRznJX

Once you have sent me an invitation, please let me know here.

Hi KC Thanks for your usual prompt response. Sorry I couldn't reply earlier as I am travelling. An account has already been set up for Brizy support. Kindly use it:

    Cheers.

Hi KC, Silly me, forgot to state the access URL: https://www

My guess is you will say we need to manually delete the old Brizy logs (total of 12GB ). Here are two other sites I am working on currently. This site is under construction:

    Hi Albert,

I have looked at your WordPress Dashboard. Please watch this video for my impressions/thoughts: https://jmp.sh/nDhXHpx

    1. As per WP DB Cleaner, the total size of your database is 13GB
    2. However WP Optimize has a shockingly different estimate of your database size: 627 MB
    3. As there is a difference of close to 12.4 GB, between the two estimates, I see a need for some reality check.
    4. Please check with your hosting company and find out the total database utilization of your WordPress instance. Please also share with us what you find out.

Once we have a better sense of your database size, we can carry forward our discussion.

Hi KC, Please do not confuse matters and use WP Optimize to muddle the waters. The numbers I gave you are from WordPress' Site Health tool and another optimization plugin that agrees with WP DB Cleaner: closer to 13GB. Three sources agree that the size is 12GB . I have already shown you the actual old Brizy log files that make up about 12GB. You can see these files from WP DB Cleaner. That's why I said: My guess is you will say we need to manually delete the old Brizy logs (total of 12GB ). The server details show that the entire installation is 17GB. Blessings, Albert

    Hi Albert

Looking at the WordPress estimate of the database size and the info from the hosting company, I agree that your database size could indeed be 13 GB.

In this video, I am discussing a possible reason for the massive database size of your website. https://jmp.sh/CWgozp5 To confirm if it is the actual cause behind the problem, I am also recommending a test. Please carry out the test and get back to us.

Hi KC Sorry I couldn't reply earlier as I was on vacation. Thanks for the test. Could you send it again as the link has expired? Cheers! Blessings, Albert

    Hi Albert

The link is still working. https://jmp.sh/CWgozp5 It has not expired. Please carry out the test I am suggesting here

    Hi KC

    1. Thanks for your helpful video. Different Brizy staff have come and gone over the years but you are more determined than the others. I can assure you that it has nothing to do with WP Reset whose snapshots are more than 100GB on Google Drive.
    2. As pointed out by other users over the years, the main culprit is the old Brizy logs. I snapped this from your video. => Please confirm that these old Brizy logs (nearly 12GB) can be deleted?
    3. As mentioned, other Brizy sites have the same problem. => Let Dimi know to get Brizy to automatically delete these old Brizy logs.
    4. Your observation about postmeta files is correct. They have the same problem.

    Blessings

Hi KC This site will be launched next week. There is something strange about the Settings for Brizy. The licence tab disappeared after a Brizy update a couple of months ago. A normal settings page:

    Hi Albert,

As I have mentioned in my video, the root cause behind the unusually high database size of your WordPress website is multiplication of tables. (It has nothing to do with Brizy). As you would have seen, every table has only a single instance in my test website. Please continue to troubleshoot this strange phenomenon.

Brizy logs is not the only table which has multiple instances. Almost every table is multiplied. In the video you must have seen the example of a plugin which has around 20 instances of the same table. Multiplication of Brizy logs and every other table is the cause behind your huge database size.

The original Brizy logs table (just one table) is required for Brizy to work. Brizy does not require multiple instances of it. However we do not recommend deleting any table (if you delete the wrong table, your website can get corrupted beyond recovery).

Here is what I recommend to fix the database size issue for your website.

    1. Make a User Created Snapshot in WP Reset (a single snapshot of around 650 MB)
    2. Delete two earlier User Created Snapshots (1 GB)
    3. Delete ALL the automatic snapshots (Around 11 GB)

Once you complete this operation, your database size should come down to 1.3 GB. (650 MB for your website and another 650 for the User Created Snapshot)

    Hi Albert

About the license tab disappearing issue, can you please let us know the Brizy and Brizy Pro versions you are using?

    0
  • Albert B G Tay

Hi KC The license tab has re-appeared. Did you fix it? Thanks. (Auto-enable is on so we are always using the latest versions.)

But the major problem now is that all images are not showing. The images appear in the editor but they are blank when viewed from "Visit Site". Please help as we are launching soon. Thanks!

    Hi KC,

Just to verify that it is not an isolated incident, we have a clone of the website as a backup. It has the same issue where all the images are visible in the editor but not on the site.

Please troubleshoot this cloned site as the domain name of the first site https://infinitusnow.site/ is expiring today.

    Thanks!

    Blessings,

    Albert

    Hi Albert,

I have looked at the image issue. All your images had a weird paths. Let's take the example of your logo path.

    1. The correct path: https://infinitusnow.online/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Trans-DOS-Logo_TrajanPro-2-e1643016557364.png
    2. Incorrect path: https://infinitusnow.online/?editor_media=wp-624f4479d2459140d3d4fa32f2fe1ba4.png&editor_crop=original

For some unknow reason, many of your pages are using the incorrect image path. I removed your logo and added it again from your Media Library. When I did it, the front end shows the correct logo path.  This is how your homepage looks right now. https://jmp.sh/i0QlWNv

By removing the image and adding it again, you can resolve this issue.

    Hi KC,

    1. Many thanks!I re-cloned the site and all images are in the right folders now.

    2. I tested that the 20GB of temp files can be deleted. It's ok now.

    3. We are ready to launch the site but there is an issue with the Mobile menu when scrolling up.

The top part where the word "Menu" is is transparent. The result is that items overlap with "Menu" when scrolling up. The top part seems to be transparent even though the entire menu has 100% white as background colour. Can you figure out why?

    Hi Albert,

I checked your mobile and tablet menu of your website. I could not reproduce the issue you are referring to. Please see how the mobile and tablet menus appear for me.

    Hi KC

    Thanks for your reply.

Step 1: Open up the sub-menu items
Step 2: Scroll up the menu. You will be able to see the overlap:

    Hi Albert,

This could be a bug. We will check it from our end. I have removed the Menu text from your mobile and tablet menus.

    Hi KC,

When I try to click on the blue handle of the carousel...

    1. It is now very difficult to activate it as it is right under the grey handle of the carousel. Purpose: Duplicate the image so as to increase the number of images in the carousel. It used to be easier which is how I added more images by duplicating via the blue handle (top right hand corner). https://anglican.org.sg/youth/

    When activated, these functions appear:

A 20-sec video on the handle when it works properly; even then, only half of the blue handle is visible. https://www.loom.com/share/4cc472c1bf16406eb7dc0285df88a861

    2. When I try to click on the blue handle, this error message appears. This never happened before. Access to the blue handle should be made much easier.

    Please help;

    thanks!

    Blessings,

    Albert

    Hi Albert,

I have added some breathing space for the blue handle. Now it is more visible and does not hide behind the grey handle.

I could no understand what you were sharing about the error message. May be you tried to attach an image. Email attachments do not work with our Community Forum and hence could not see it.

    Hi KC

    1. Thanks. The carousel that needs breathing space is @ https://anglican.org.sg/youth/ where the blue handle cannot be accessed. There are other pages with carousels but I will replicate what you do if you could kindly record a video to show me.

    2. I have recorded a video to show you the difficulties that happened after the 2.4 update.

    a. The blue handle is behind the grey handle and is very difficult to access (top right corner).

    b. When you click on the blue handle, the element error happens. https://www.loom.com/share/f57b4ec5db2f48839e311cd5388f129b Your usual prompt help is much appreciated.

    Blessings,

    Hi Albert,

I have added some breathing space between the outer and inner containers of the carousel in the youth page also. Here is the procedure. https://jmp.sh/2MDZJpo Hopefully the element error would not happen if you follow this procedure.

    Excellent explanation, KC.

It works for the desktop view. But in the mobile view, I cannot get to the grey container so as to move the yellow carousell arrows inwards. How do I do that? https://www.loom.com/share/aa60e14bf12b4c38bf9afc089cf1c3f5 Many thanks for your help!

    Hi Albert,

I think I lost the site access credentials. Can you please send it to kc.george@brizy.io? I will look into this.

    Hi Albert,

I have added some breathing space in tablet and mobile design views as well. Please see if you can access the carousel settings now

    Many thanks, KC!

Great that it still works after I added negative margins for the mobile and tablet views. Could you record a video of how you added space so that I can implement it for other sliders?

    Blessings, Albert
