Important: We don't sell custom domains. If you don't have a custom domain, buy one from any domain registrar out there. IDN domains (domains that contain special characters) are supported now in Brizy Cloud.
Follow these steps to link your custom domain with your Brizy Cloud project.
Add required DNS Records
Step 1. Select the "Publish" option in your project thumbnail
Step 2. Select the "Custom Domain" option in the popup
Step 3. Enter your domain name. Type the root domain without www and click the "Submit" button. Please note that IDN domains (domains that contain special characters) are not yet supported in Brizy Cloud .
We'll use rishikeshwalks.in as an example.
Step 4. You will see a notification screen with A Record and the CNAME records currently associated with your domain and the required records.
-
Add the CNAME Record
Sign into your domain registrar account and choose the desired domain you wish to point to your Brizy Cloud project. If your domain name points to external Name Servers like the name server of a hosting provider, you must add the CNAME and A Records after signing into your hosting provider account. Here is an example on how these options might look like on your end:
|
IMPORTANT: you can't have two www CNAME redirects. If you already have one, replace that, instead of adding a second one.
-
Add the A Record
In the same DNS dashboard
|
Important: If you have recently updated your Name Servers associated with your domain, it may take up to 48 hours for the changes to propagate across the internet. If you did not change your Name Servers, and have only added the required DNS records, your changes may take effect within a few minutes.
If you have added the DNS records correctly, under "Current Data" you should see those records in green.
Delete address records pointing to external servers
For domain resolution to work properly, your domain must point exclusively to the Brizy Cloud server with IP 34.237.47.210 and no other external servers. Your domain should not have any additional A or AAAA records pointing to external servers. Kindly delete A and AAAA records pointing to external servers.
For instance, if you see the following A Records and AAAA records associated with your domain, delete the two A records and two AAAA records within the red rectangle, as they point the domain to external servers.
Disable DNS Proxy in Cloudflare
If you are hosting your DNS records on Cloudflare Name Servers like logan.ns.cloudflare.com or mckenzie.ns.cloudflare.com ensure that you disable DNS Proxy for the A Record and the CNAME Record you have added above.
SSL certificate auto-generation
About twenty minutes after you have added the custom domain and clicked on "Submit" button, Brizy Cloud will attempt to auto-generate an SSL certificate for your domain.
If DNS records are correctly added within twenty minutes, SSL certificate will be auto generated successfully. However, if adding the necessary DNS records, removing records pointing to external servers and turning off the DNS proxy in Cloudflare take more than twenty minutes, auto generation of SSL certificate may fail and you will see an SSL protocol error on your website frontend.
If you see the SSL error when visiting your website twenty minutes after adding the required DNS records, please delete your custom domain by choosing the "Delete Domain" option, add it again, and then wait for twenty minutes for the SSL certificate to be auto-generated.
