    Hi,

    Yes, you can show and customize custom fields from ACF using Brizy. For this, you have to create a template. See my example.
    1 - Create the CPT, in my case it is the "Car" one https://jmp.sh/JbPSfSa;
    2 - Create the Custom fields in the ACF;
    3 - Make sure you selected the correct location rule. Here you have to select the Post type is equal to [CPT name], see here;
    4 - After this go to the CPT and create all posts https://jmp.sh/v7NG730;
    5 - Go to the Brizy -> Templates -> Add new and create a template;
    6 - Add a suggestive name and most important add the Display condition Single Include -> [CPT name] -> All, see here.
    7 - Don't forget to add the condition and publish the template;
    8 - Click on "Edit with Brizy" and inside add the elements you want to show (header, footer, title, Archive element, etc).

    Let us know if we can help you with something else.

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Hi Sandra,

    I am unable to create a page that has Single Include > CPT Name > All because I currently have a template set up that way.

    The first template that I've set up is the template for the single page - the individual jobs themselves.

    I want this page to be essentially like a blog page but for the jobs. So it would pull the job title (post title) and ACF fields like pay, location, etc.

    Can you help me out with that please?

    Thank you,

    Nik

    Hi,

    Ok, thank you for information and clarification. If you want to have a page where will be displayed all jobs you have, you have to:
    1 - Add a Custom Taxonomy in the Custom Post Type https://jmp.sh/NDirFk9;
    2 - Create a Taxonomy in the CPT, for example, I created the "new-set" taxonomy https://jmp.sh/VbgbRze;
    3 - After this go to all CPT and add them to this newly created taxonomy (for example, for all CPT I set the "new-set" taxonomy) https://jmp.sh/zFuatE1;
    4 - Go to Pages and create a new page;
    5 - Edit it with Brizy;
    6 - Inside this page add all elements you need to display (header, footer, title, etc.) + add the Posts element;
    7 - For the Posts element, select for showing the posts from the custom taxonomy, in my example, I selected the "new-set" https://jmp.sh/2dUko16.

    Important! Check and make sure that in the Posts element you are using the Custom fields https://jmp.sh/u0NzcUv.

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Good evening Sandra, I can see it's possible create archive templates for custom post type, but I can see if for example, in a page, I add a post element, I can only show posts entries from any category, but I can not show entries from custom post types.

    That's right?

    Thank you very much!

    David Monje.

    Hi Sandra! Thank you so much for the step by step. That worked like a charm!

    I had two other questions. One is in regards to the styling and spacing. Is it possible to make these jobs align by the top? Meaning they are all aligned even if the previous job had a longer description?

    Here's how it looks now:

    I have another question that I'd need to ask off of the public method because I would need someone to log into the site. It has to do with something not related to this, but with a Brizy Single template I created not looking right when editing in the backend. This just started happening today.

    Hi David,

    If you want to show only the Custom Post Type, in the Brizy template or in the Brizy page, please follow the steps from my last reply. You have to add a new taxonomy and then create a taxonomy. After this you have to add all CPT in that custom taxonomy you will create. In the Posts element, you have to select the Custom Taxonomy you created and add all CPT there. In the previous message, you will find more details with screenshots regarding this.

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Hi Nik,

    Thank you for confirming that all is working just fine now. Great to hear this!

    1 - Could you please check if you have the latest updates for Brizy Free 2.1.5 and Brizy Pro 2.1.3? If you temporary deactivate all external plugins and activate a WP default theme, do you receive the same inconvenience? Unfortunately, I couldn't reproduce it. See here.

    2 - Could you please give us more details regarding the problem you encounter on the Single template? Could you send us some screenshots with how did you create this template, with display conditions? Maybe will not need to log-in your dashboard.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Hi Sandra,

    1. I have the latest updates for Brizy Free and Pro. Activating a WP default theme breaks the entire layout of the site, but I did check and the jobs were messy anyway.

    2. Strangely enough, reapplying the WP default theme, then putting it back fixed this second point for me. #2 is no longer an issue.

    I just need help with #1 still.

    Thank you,

    Nik

    Hi,

    Could you please send us the URL link of the jobs page? We want to check it. If you don't want to make it public, let us know and we will delete it before approving.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Good afternoon Sandra, really jobs page it's not my page (it's Nik's page). I can see your solutions works perfectly, but it's some limited. For example, if I have a food website and I have a CPT called Meals, and I want to show all categories (mediterranean, asian...) of meals it's not possible. It would be perfect selecting a CPY directly and have a filter by categories. I can see you can filter by tag...

    Thank you very much!

    David.

    Hi Sandra,

    The site is on staging and one is unable to view it without logging in. So what I've done is created a temporary login link - please do not make this public, this is only for you to see and to have access to:

    Details were deleted by Brizy Support team

    Again, please make sure you don't make this page public.

    Thank you,

    Nik

    Hi David,

    This is a particular solution for this particular case. If you want to display all categories from the Custom Taxonomy, you have to create a new taxonomy (for example for your case, the "Meals") and add it for all Custom Posts types. In this way, all posts will have 2 categories, the Meals one (which is the common one) and the specific taxonomy (Asia, Mediterranean, etc).

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Hi Nik,

    We are still investigating your page. Please, allow us a bit more time for this. It is strange behaviour for us because we can't reproduce it.
    Thanks!

    Hi Nik,

    We continued to investigate this inconvenience and therefore we created an issue and sent it to our developers. They will check this issue and will find a solution on how to fix it. This inconvenience seems to happen only on the Posts element, in the Archive element all seems to work fine.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Thanks Sandra, I appreciate it. Note, that in the next couple of days I need to move it from staging to live - so obviously I'd really like a resolve soon if possible, but please do keep me updated.

    Thank you,

    Nik

    Hi Sandra, just a heads up, I pushed the site live. I will post a temporary login link below to the live site, please do not publish this part of the post:

    The detail was deleted by Brizy Support Team.

    I just didn't want anyone to go into the staging site anymore, since that will be inactive.

    Thank you,

    Nik

    Hi Nik,

    Thank you for updating us regarding this. We already send to our team the new temporary log-in and they will investigate this inconvenience. To be honest with you, I can't say that this will be fixed soon because most probably the fix will be added in one of the next updates. This issue was already fixed but it seems to re-appear in one of the new updates.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Hi Nik,

    In this period we didn't release any update and we are working on some features and new fixes. Regarding the problem you encounter, we didn't receive any update but we know that the team are working on it. We plan to add the fix in one of the future updates. We can promise that it will be right in the next update (but we will strive to release on the next update) but soon after the next update we will release another update with this fix.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,

    Hi Sandra,

    I'm running into another issue, urgent. When logged in, and in the Brizy editor it looks as it's supposed to, but when browsing not logged in, the page looks really messed up.

    I tried switching Page Attributes > Template to Brizy Template, and it looks fine but I am left with no header and footer on that page. It did work just fine before under Default Template before. No changes were made. Thank you,

    Nik

    Hi Nik,

    I checked the link you send us and I find that the Header and Footer are displaying fine on the live mode https://jmp.sh/tCGGDA9. I encounter only this inconvenience https://jmp.sh/NdHjQ6y. This problem is caused by the theme (I suggest you are using the Blocksy theme because this problem happens only with this theme). We collaborated with Blocksy theme and they informed us that soon they will release a new update and there will be added the fix that will solve this problem from their part. Till the moment they will release the update, you can add this temporary fix. About this informed one of our users and he shared this CSS https://gist.github.com/sergiu-radu/9314ef524d1e2bf41a487dcdf58201f4

    Thanks!

    Best regards,

    Hi there,

    I have some news related to the column height from the Posts element. At the moment, the problem was fixed and all columns should have the same height inside the Posts element. For the Posts element that has activated the Tags Filter option the position of posts is set-up as Masonry and for this reason, you see posts with a different height. It is the normal display and generated by the Tags filter option that is activated.
    Could you please update the Brizy Free 2.2.6 and Brizy Pro 2.2.2 to the latest updates and check if all is fine now?

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Hi Sandra,

    Thanks for the follow-up. I updated it, but unfortunately, it looks the same as before. Are there any other things I need to change to get the heights to match?

    Thanks,

    Nik

  • Sandra Prunici

    Hi Nik,

    On your page, if I'm not wrong you are using the Posts element with the "Tags Filter" option on. In this case, as I said in the previous message, the posts are displayed in the Masonry way and the height of the column isn't the same as the other columns from the same row. This is the correct way of displaying. If you have on the page the posts element without "Tags Filter" option on, you have the latest versions for Brizy free 2.2.7 and Brizy Pro 2.2.3 and you still have this issue, could you please send us the URL link of the page? We want to check this inconvenience.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sandra
