Performance - scripts & fonts
Hi Guys,
I have bought a Brizy lifetime membership with the idea swicthing from different PageBuilder frameworks (Divi/ Avada/ Flatsome/ X-theme) to one and only.
I chose Brizy because of the easiness so that my clients are able to work on small parts themselves but also the basic idea that Brizy only loads whats needed (instead of Avada which loads ALL and then you need to cut down disabling elements).
But now .... after creating a single page compared to Avada i do have some Brizy performance issues i would like to address because i think this is coming from the Brizy core where there is a loop.
I am using WordPress 5.4.2 with Brizy 1.0.126 and Brizy Pro 0.0.41 plugin here.
1. Excessive Fonts loading?
On this page i have only Montserrat loaded for every typograpy item. Now the .woff files are loaded 6 times.
On top of that a complete library of Google Fonts is downloaded with all Vietnamese/ Thais subsets. Why al these subsets? And how can i influence them?
Same as point 1, check the multiple instances of the same reCaptcha .js file & TXT icons loaded here; (up to 6!):

3. Excessive loading of TXT files
Same question as here: https://support.brizy.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/360069882391-Brizy-Icon-TXT-files
4. Preview scripts loading in LIVE environment?
previews.js / preview.pro.js / previews.css / preview.pro.css are loaded on the webpage although i am not logged in to wordpress there (incognito browser). I shouldn't think these should be here.
5. Media Library - image not registered to post/ pages
I noticed all my Media items were also copied, which was strange but maybe in conjunction with the multiple loading of scripts. But the more strange I find that the Media files are not 'registered' to the pages where they are included through Brizy. Meaning that the default dropdown in WordPress where i am able to filter Media is not working for me anymore.
6. Comparison Avada / Brizy
With about the same page/ content i do not really see a lot of difference now. Although Avada is known as a bloated Framework, very hard to optimize.
Brizy (builder)
75 requests
4.12 MB / 1.58 MB transferred
Avada (new)
89 requests
2.72 MB / 1.41 MB transferred
7. Potential savings
With the above points i calculated on double scripts loading i could save 500Kb which is 0,5Mb (!!) for just this page, which is 33% of it's total
So ... my excuse for the long list ;-) but better in one post than 10 separate tickets :-p. For now i am having 2nd thoughts if Brizy will be the builder for my clients because of the loading times are not (yet) bringing in any extra. And i am afraid that if these issues are "in the core" it possible will end up like Divi/ Avada in some years.
Please let me know your thoughts

I am having the same issue of preview.pro.js and preview.js loading for the live site, not just when editing, not just when logged in even. Were there solutions for this issue? These files are by far the largest parts of the site to load.

Hi Caitlin,
Yes, we are working on these improvements and want to release it as soon as possible. It isn't a simple improvement and we need to release some other ones to create the perfect environment for this enhancement because it depends on many factors and elements. In this period we release already some optimization improvement and we don't stop, we continue to improve and improve this aspect.
Please let us a bit more time. Thanks!

Hi,
Yes, at the moment isn't possible to upload a custom font in the OTF file format. We allow only TTF, EOT, WOFF and WOFF2. I can't say exactly when we will add the OTF font file possibility but I will inform our team regarding this request.
Thanks!Best regards,

Hi, is there some update on this topic. I find Brizy loading a font twice or even three times strange.
