Issues with multiple users
Hi,
I have started have an issue when 2 people are editing the site at the same time.
If person A is logged in and editing a page, once person B logs in and tries to edit a different page a message pops up saying that person A is editing the same page with the options of returning to dashboard or taking over. We are definitely not trying to edit the same page at the same time and not sure why this has started occurring. We have been editing with multiple (2) users for some time with no issue. All updates have been completed to date with plugins and Wordpress. Both users are editing with Brizy.
I originally thought this may have been a Wordpress issue but if one person is editing a page using the Wordpress editor this error does not occur so I thought it may have been related to Brizy as it only happens if both people are using Brizy.
Also I noticed an earlier thread about the need to refresh pages when trying to update. I did see that error message as well yesterday but it appears to have gone now. Not sure if the 2 are at all related.
Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Stephen,
We don't recommend editing the same site or page at the same time by 2 or more users. The error you found when trying to Update the page is a pop-up that informs you that on this page was made already some modifications in a different tab and you have to refresh the page. Therefore, you can lose the work you did because the page was "Update" by someone else at the moment you edited the page. Therefore, when you finish the edit and want to update the page, you receive this notification and you can't update the page because it was already updated. Therefore I suggest opening the page only in one tab and by a single user. Also, this notification can appear, when somebody makes some modification in the general settings of the site and you at this moment edited the page.
Best regards,
Sandra

Thanks Sandra for the response.
To clarify for my own understanding even though Wordpress allows multiple users to work on the same site at the same time on different pages, Brizy does not?
I am a little confused as we have both edited the same site but different pages previously and had no issue but now it seems to be a problem? I understand we cannot edit the same page at once and that makes sense but surly we would not be the only people who would want more than 1 person working on a site at the same time. If this is the case will future releases of Brizy address this issue?
I love using Brizy and it is very easy to use and has great features.
Cheers

I opened a ticket for our developers regarding this inconvenience and they will check it.
Thanks!

Hi Guys,
to this date, 20-Oct 2020, 2 users can still not work on 2 different pages.
Basically, only 1 user can edit Brizy pages on a site.
This is a major loss in productivity, don't you think?
However, it seems that there is a TRICK:
If both persons log with the same login then Brizy seems not to see any issue to editing 2 pages.
Would that be OK or will it trigger other issues?

Hi,
This isn't an issue, it is a restriction to protect users and the site they created. We plan to improve this aspect and we are investigating this aspect.
I'm sorry but I don't recommend that 2 users log-in the same dashboard using the same user credentials. This can generate the same inconveniences.Best regards,

Hi Sandra,
While Brizy may not see this as an issue from a technical point of view, it is an issue from a user experience point of view. We seriously considered moving our entire site away from Brizy because of this and only stayed because it would take us too much time to move everything to another page builder. It costs us a lot of time because only one of us can be on the site at once.
It is good to know that Brizy is looking at it. Do you have a rough idea of timing? Will it be this year or next year?
Thanks
Stephen1 -
It is even not possible with 2 different users on 2 different pages!!

Hi there,
Thank you for your messages. Yes, we plan to improve this aspect but unfortunately, I can't say an ETA for it because at the moment we are very busy with Dynamic Content for WooCommerce, improving Cloud, Web stories and more. But this not mean that we will ignore this aspect. Please, let us a bit more time for this.
Thanks!
Best regards,
Sandra-1 -
Hi Sandra,
while I understand Brizy does not have an ETA on this could you at least say if it will be completed in the next 12 months or not. It has already been 5 months since I raised this issue and it would be nice to know that there is at least some idea on a time frame. If Brizy does not have a time frame does this mean that this is not being looked at and it wont be changed?
Thanks
Stephen

Hi,
I would like to say a timeframe for improving this option but at the moment I can't say because it is a very relative question. We can't know how many time we will need for this improving. What I can say is that we are discussing this question and are investigating how we can solve it. It isn't as easy as it can seem and we need time to find the right solution.
Thank you for understanding!Best regards,

Thanks Sandra.
I understand at the moment it is not easy to do and you do not know how long it might take to fix. Do you at least know when you will work out how long it will take? Could you say, for example, that within so many months you will be in a position to let us know when this will be changed and released?
Sorry to keep bugging about this but for us, this is a big problem and at the moment it appears any changes will be a long time away. We might have to look at other options because of this based on what you have said.Cheers

As I said before we can't know these details. Also, I want to mention that we didn't have created an issue and don't work on it. The work isn't considered only the action when our team write a code. The work means all the discussions, investigations and so on. These steps are part of the work and I can't say you didn't start to work on this inconvenience. All our team knows about it and we will strive to implement a solution for it as soon as possible. I would like to say when we will find a solution and when we will implement it but we don't know. When we will have some notification regarding this inconvenience, we will inform you here.
Thanks!Best regards,

Hi again,
We are close to delivering our three month mammoth project only to find out that our client expects their new page to be edited by at least 2-3 editors working in parallel updating the page.
So here is the deal. The client will find out next week that his staff (think blog/newsmagazine etc) won't be able to work in parallel on the site! Once learned they have to work one after the other they will fire back at us. We might either lose our future jobs coming from that client or have to completely re-build the whole project, on our cost, with another builder like Divi.
I as a designer was misled by the ease of use and dropped Divi in favour of Brizy on this particular project.
In my humble opinion a plugin developed for a platform like Wordpress – which was developed with collaboration (parallel editing) in mind! – should be designed for collaboration from the ground up and this basic feature should be one of your highest priorities!
Thanks

Hi Sandra,
Thank you for your feedback and comment. We are working on this issue and plan to improve it. Unfortunately, I can't say exactly when we will release it but our team are doing all the best. I'm sorry for this inconvenience!
Best regards,
Sandra-1 -
You should highlight this limitation of editing to a single user. In our company, this is something we discovered after hiring an additional employee. Do you realize the consequences of not knowing this information from the start? Is your product simply intended for freelancers working alone? If so, you won't get very far on the market. Sorry about that.
Best regards.Jean

Hi Jean,
Thank you for your feedback! As I said before, we are working to improve this aspect.
Let us know if we can help you with something else.

Hi Sandra,
Thank you. In so many ways, you make such a difference in the marketplace.
Your vision is innovative and offers unparalleled ease of editing. This is very promising.
But I shouldn't be the only one in this case. And I hope that you will give yourself the opportunity to enable multi-user editing as quickly as possible.
Best regards,
Jean

Sorry for hammering on this MAJOR issue but alone today we lost 4 hours of work because as so many are involved building this big web project some are not aware of the single user limitation!
Please make all future users aware of this fact by have a warning in the TopSlider on your marketing page until you found a solution for multi-user editing (Global Blocks) included!
At it's current stage we cannot recommend Brizy to any of our clients at least until you've solved the single-user issue!
Thank you.

Hi Sandra,
This is still causing us significant productivity issues as well and is a major drawback to Brizy at the moment.
This has been going on for 6 months now and we are still no further forward. From the customer point of view I would expect by now that Brizy has at least scheduled this in its development road map and prioritised it against other development. As such it should be easy to let the customer know when this is scheduled to start and that it is in fact in the road map. Brizy has been able to do this for other features it has released so why not this time and with this matter? I am not asking for a specific date, only an indication that it is scheduled for a particular release. I understand that things may take longer or shorter than expected but a rough idea is not hard to do.
If Brizy continues to say "we know about the inconvenience and we are working to improve as soon as possible" it makes me think that while you know about this matter it is a low priority over other features under development. I understand that this may only impact a smaller number of customers but to those it does impact I feel that Brizy should at least let us know where in the road map it is scheduled.
I would really appreciate if Brizy can provide us all with a bit more clarity as to when you expect this to be resolved. At the moment my concern is the focus for Brizy is to develop new functionality rather than resolve some of the harder older matters.
Thanks

Hey Stephen,
So sorry for the inconveniences you are encountering. I've personally talked about this with Sergiu our lead developer and project manager. Unfortunately multi user work in Brizy is not available and will require a tremendous amount of re tooling and re coding to make it happen.
Single user works as it should be right now and some improvements can be made (I think) when the users are working on separate pages and don't have global blocks on those pages (although there is still the global colors and typography to consider). But other than this, multi user work in Brizy is not on the list yet and I would not expect this to be done anytime soon I'm afraid.
I understand this is not what you might want to hear, but it's the truth and knowing this you can plan accordingly.
Might be in the cards for the future, but I can't promise anything.
All the best,
Dimi,
Brizy co-founder

Hi Dimi,
thank you for taking the time to answer this for me, I really appreciate it.
We love using Brizy and think it looks great and is easy to use. For our situation we really need to be able to work in a multi-user environment and will have to have a think about what we do and see if we make it work somehow.
Cheers

Hi Dimi,
I just want to emphasize that multi user support is crucial in my opinion. It is very hard to explain customers this huge restriction. I‘m forced to use different page builders in some cases just because of this restriction.
As long as there is no multi user support, it would help a lot to get some hints under which conditions parallel work is possible and without risk. Maybe you could do some testing and advice customers what can be done and what can‘t.
I love Brizy and want to use it in as many cases as possible.
Kind regards,

Hello,
I am a french website creator (freelance). First of all, I want to tell you that I am a big fan of Brizy. I think it'is really one of the best page / theme builder I have ever tested.
I use Brizy for several websites that I manage and I also use it for most of my customers.
But today, for the first time, I have a big issue with Brizy. I just realised that Brizy does not work with multiples users at the same time !!
Until now I had clients with only one editor by project. But for the first time, I have a bigger client with 4 editors wich want to edit contents with Brizy at the same time (single website with a lot of content that has to be online very soon). And this feature is not possible !!
I have developped the whole site with Brizy and I don't have the time anymore to develop it with another page builder because this website has to be online very soon....
My client is very frustrated. It is very hard to explain him that the problem doesn't come from me, but from Brizy.
I never read before in your documentation that multiple user at the same wasn't not possible. If I had found it somewehere in your documentation, I would have choosen another solution.
Why such a big tool as Brizy doesn't offer this possiblity which is indispensable and basic for big projects.........
Thanks for your quick answser. I hope that you will manage to resolve this issue very soon !
If not, unfortunatly, I will quit Brizy for another page builder, and I realy dont want that because Brizy is so cool to use !
Nice day
Gregoire.

Hi there,
Thank you all for your messages and feedback! I want to inform you and send you a company message that you understand and emphasize with all of you who need to work in a team simultaneous on a project. As we already stated in previous messages, we will work to investigate this aspect and improve it. Our team are already checking all cases and methods but at the moment it is a bit complicated and complex because it depends on many important variables and details.
Thank you for your understanding and patience!
Best regards,
Sandra0 -
Hi Chartron,
we have the same problem. Websites must get finished for many customers in a rush. We can only achieve this by working on one project at the same time. Unfortunately Brizy does not support collaboration, which we discovered after purchasing the lifetime license. It is kind of unfair, that this restriction is not clearly communicated by Brizy. There is only this weird page concerning collaboration:

Here is what we discovered so farTwo or more users can work on one Brizy website, provided:
- They log in with the same Wordpress user
- They work on different pages of the same website
- They avoid editing global blocks at the same time
So far we had no issues when respecting these rules. However, we frequently make backups, just in case! And of course we have a bad feeling by using the same Wordpress user. But it works, and it is the only way we can use Brizy at the moment.
Good luck,
Uli1 -
Thank you Ulrich for sharing your tips !
Very useful. I'am going to try if it works on my projects. I Hope so...Even if it is a temporaly solution for Brizy customer, it can be a way to create content faster...
We are all waiting for Brizy to resolve this issue as soon as possible....
Tchüss !

Hello Ulrich,
I have tried your method and follow it step by step but it dosesn't work for us ;-(
I always have this message :
"This page needs a refresh. You've probably updated this page (or another page) in a different tab or browser.

Hi Chartron,
Thank you for the post.
I would like to inspect this error in private. Can you please give me access in your dashboard?
Thanks!
Natalia

Hi Chartron,
I confirm we also get this message ("This page needs a refresh") when multiple users work with Brizy at the same time. It is annoying, but not a problem: You just refresh and continue to work. That's the way we do it.
Uli
