Please make Brizy and WPML compatible
Hi there,
My name is Aleksandra Mandalova and I write this ticket on behalf of Irina Christova, owner of https://zenira.bg/.
This website was built and developed in April 2018 by me in cooperation with Mrs. Christova, my customer. Back then we implemented Kids Play, a Themefuse WordPress theme layout, which was built by Unyson framework builder. Later on, many other plugins have been added, but WPML stands on the top of the important functionalities list. (FYI we have a lifetime licence for WPML Pro, hence we are not planing to switch to another plugin)
Nowadays, we reached to a point where KidsPlay and Unyson are no longer updated and Brizy has developed a lot since July 2018, when it was introduced to the public that ThemeFuse is switching from Unyson to Brizy builder.
So we have started analyzing the case in order to take a long-term decision for a stable website development which includes 4 other language versions, except the original one + many other functionalities.
We found out that only theme Kids Quest is available in the pre-made layouts, but not the one we have been using, namely Kids Play, so faced the need to rebuild the website design.
There were two ways to go:
to switch completely to another theme and framework
or
to give Brizy a try. After all as ThemFuse customer, Irina has the right to get for free 2 years license for Brizy Pro. This builder is very intuitive and user-friendly as well as well documented. Sure there are things to be improved and there are priorities and time tables to be followed, but what if, only a small effort from your side, brings a lot of benefit to many of your customers as well as those of WPML.
Here is the deal: Contact WPML compatibility devs to help you guys make Brizy 100% compatible with WPML for free.
I supposed both parties have discussed that already, but what I see online are only tickets for Brizy in the WPML support forum and there are none in the Brizy's one.
Here is the ticket that represents the WPML offer: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/brizy-compatibility/#post-5346981
"I'd suggest you contact the plugin authors and recommend them to join our 'Go Global' program (https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/) where our Compatibility developers will help them make their product 100% compatible with WPML for free."
I have a concrete issue linked to translating menus, set as global, which I am going to send in another ticket.
Thank you for your efforts to make Brizy compatible as much as you can now,
Cheers,
Aleksandra Mandalova

Hi Aleksandra,
Thank you for the explicit message.
Brizy is compatible with WPML, but I admit that compatibility is not 100% and there are still some details that need to be worked on.
Please send us your credentials and all the details regarding the problem you have in a private ticket. We will analyze the problem on your site and then we will make a general fix. Thus we will approach 100% compatibility :)

Thank you, Alex!
I've sent credentials in ticket 6704.
Details for the issue you may find here: Brizy and WPML: no synchronization between menu language versions.
Be healthy,
Aleksandra

Following this thread, as I have also a big problem with this incompatibility.
All my clients have sites with different domain/language and WPML is the only solution that allows this configuration.
In my case I cannot even create a page in another language.
Please make it happen. Thanks

Hi,
Can you please give us more details? It doesn't look like a Brizy issue. What if you will disable Brizy builder? Will you be able to create the page?

Hi,
the problem is not to create a page, it's the Brizy builder which is not working.
Once the page is created in a secondary language, trying to edit with Brizy generate a 404.
Here a screencast

.... I must add that this problem comes when using a different domain/language

Hello,
For me too it's a problem that Brizy is not compatible.
I wrote to WPML and he tells me that Brisy should register
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
To make it compatible
here is the original message

Thank you in advance for your support in making our site translatable
Best regards

Hi,
Brizy is almost compatible with WPML but there are some issues that need to be fixed. We are already in discussion with them, but we still need to do some work before submitting the application to their Go-Global program.

Great news!
Finally, the chance to drop all others builders :)
This is the only reason we don't use Brizy for our clients.

In the meantime, if you have specific issues with WPML and Brizy, please send the problem description and login details in a private request and we'll try to find some workarounds so you can continue working on your site.

Hi Alex, I think almost everybody already sent their login details, but nothing happened.
No solutions, no workarounds.
In this specific case of WPML incompatibility, only one thing helps: make it compatible! ;)
Thanks

Hi,
Please make this compatible with WPML, its the most popular translation software available. The guys over at WPML have stated publicly that they are waiting on the Brizy team to work with them but haven't had any response for some time (according to the last comments I read).
They have pointed out that the Brizy team can get FREE help from WPML on making Brizy & WPML compatible but that they need Brizy to work with them.
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
Please find the time to make this happen.
Thanks.

A BIG +1 from me, too.
please join the GO GLOBAL program. they offer FREE help. we are located in germany and need WPML to work for our clients in different languages. as we already own WPML and we are used to working with it, i would appreciate if you complete the GO-GLOBAL-program with the WPML-team.
greets,hajo

From what I can read on this recent answer
https://support.brizy.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/360063471832/comments/360011174672
we are still very far from a proper solution :(

Unfortunately, yes. We don't have an ETA. Some things from WPML force us to re-create some modules in the Brizy editor and this is not an easy task. It is certain that it is on the list of priorities, but I can't tell you when it will be created.

+1 from me really important!

I also struggling to use WPML with Brizy. I built a bigger website using Brizy for years and then consulted Brizy support which translation plugins they suggest to maky my site multilingual. I was advised to use WPML, so I got a 1 year paid licence. Then I have to find out that contrary to Brizys advise WPML is not supported propperly and I can only use the bare most basic functions of WPML and none of the features that made me choose WPML. Please help fixing this issue and integrate WPML better into the Brizy environment.
Best regards,
Max

hi max,
as you can see, the comments are 3 years old. the team at brizy obviouslyy has problems with the compatibility. and to be honest: DIVI (wordpress-theme also). they stated to be compatible, but occasionally the whole website doesn´t work. so i come to the point that will help you: i do not use WPML but the plugin CONDITIONAL MENUS. i douplicate a german page, translate it to english, save it under the directory ENG and with that plugin i can tell WP to have the english menu. i didi this a year ago and it works.

Although menus are one of the main incompatibility problems, there are many other issues, such as the use of WPML's advanced editor and Brizy's global modules.
I too have been able to find a compromise by using alternative menu plugins, but it is about time that Brizy fulfilled its initial promise to make the builder 100% compatible with WPML.
