Cant publish a project with Server Sync in a subfolder

Hi,

I’m trying to publish a project using Server Sync to a subfolder on a domain:
https://elementum.si/gasilska-zvez/

However, I’m encountering an error stating that “subprojects” are not supported or not recommended.

I have to admit the terminology is a bit unclear to me — the use of “subprojects” in this context seems unusual. Could you clarify whether this refers to subfolders?

I’m asking because your documentation (linked below) appears to demonstrate Server Sync being used with a subfolder:

So I’m trying to understand how this aligns with the limitation mentioned in the error.

Could you clarify whether publishing to a subfolder is officially supported, and if so, what configuration might be causing this issue?

For context, the server is running PHP 8, and subfolders are functioning normally on the domain. We also changed the default permissions on the subfolder to 775 (drwxrwxr-x).

  Server Sync does not support publishing on a sub folder. We apologize for the inaccurate representation in the knowledebase article.
