had to remove the videos and embed them directly with youtube instead of the brizy player

    which sucks

every few weeks I randomly encounter new fuck ups on our website with brizy and it is driving me mad

    Hi Ariel,

sorry for my temper in the last posts. We discovered the bugs in the middle of a very stressful season and I lost control.

thanks a lot for your willingness to help!

Just to nail down the description of the problem again for you: we’ve got several slightly different copies of our landing page with separate URLS, each of those landing pages has a video right under the hero section, that is embedded using the brizy embedding tool. (see attached picture for clarification)

On most of our landing pages, this works just fine (for example: thestreetradio.com or https://thestreetradio.com/hochzeitsband-dresden/ work fine), but on two of them (namely: https://thestreetradio.com/hochzeitsband-berlin/  and https://thestreetradio.com/hochzeits-dj-berlin/) , a very annoying bug occurs when the visitor is clicking the play button: the video apparently loads twice, one time in the background (?), so the audio is doubled with a very displeasign echo - it’s possible to stop one of the videos via the youtube controls, but the one in the background keeps running, therefore the sound stays present. It’s very offputting. Unfortunately we couldn’t find the root of the bug ourselves.

We created this temporary login for you and would be extremely thankful, if you could take a look in the code of these subpages and could tell us what we’re missing. We really appreciate it! :)

I also attached screenshots to show how the two broken subpages are named in the backend (“Hochzeits DJ Berlin” and  “Hochzeitsband Berlin & Hochzeits DJ Berlin”), just to make sure you catch the right ones, as some of them have quite similar names.

I sent the temporary log in to communitysupport@brizy.io

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Andreas,

Thank you for providing access details.

Upon checking, and the issue appears to be related to hard cache. When adding /?nocache=0 at the end of the URL, the problem no longer occurs, which confirms that caching is causing the duplicated video playback.

    Please try these URLs:
    https://thestreetradio.com/hochzeits-dj-berlin/?nocache=0
    https://thestreetradio.com/hochzeitsband-berlin/?nocache=0

I've also made a screencast for you on this link: https://youtu.be/q6DuLCyaD-c

I recommend reaching out to SiteGround Support and asking them to purge the server-side cache for your website. Once the cache is fully cleared, the issue should be resolved on all pages.

Please try this and let me know how it goes.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Hey Ariel,

You were right: I flushed the cache and now the problem is solved. Everything works just fine now. Thank you for your support!

    Have a great day!
