Brizy Template and dynamic content. How does it work?
Hi there,
OK, I've got a custom post type called Projects, there will be around 20+ single projects so I've created a Brizy template and applied it to that post type. That's fine.
However, I want to have a gallery for each project and the way Brizy currently works there isn't a way to dynamiclly pull through the gallery. We would probably create an Envira gallery and then in the custom post type, have a field we're we can past the Envira gallery shortcode but then I don't know how that shortcode would get pulled through to the Brizy template as there will be multiple projects and so multiple shortcodes?
The only way to do this, or so I think, is to on each indvidual project use Brizy rather use a Brizy Template. I can of course save the layout but then if we change the layout it would mean updating 20+ templates which would be time consuming.
Thoughts on how we could do this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Darren,
You have mentioned that
The only way to do this, or so I think, is to on each individual project use Brizy rather use a Brizy Template. I can of course save the layout but then if we change the layout it would mean updating 20+ templates which would be time consuming.
There is a third choice in addition to using Brizy Templates and creating every Project page directly in Brizy. I would advise you to choose option three.
In option three, you develop every Project in Brizy. You make a template for your projects by using Global Blocks, its display conditions, and dynamic data. Any modification you make to the template will reflect on all your projects. Regular (non-global) blocks are added with the content that is unique to each project. Since the project image gallery is unique for each project. It will get added in Brizy into a regular block.
Unfortunately, we do not have a tutorial that you may watch and follow to complete option three. These are the steps we can take to accomplish option three together.
- You add at least one project in Gutenberg. Except for the image gallery, add all the content you want to the project.
- You make a Single Project Brizy template and design it to your heart's content.
- Once you have completed the above steps, you inform me and grant me access to your WordPress Dashboard.
- For one of your projects, I generate a single project template using option three. In a video session, I also explain to you how to use the template and how to add subsequent projects.
- You add the remaining projects according to the instructions in the video.

Hi Darren,
I have created a Brizy Template and have added it to most of your projects using Global Blocks and Display Conditions. Please watch this video for the procedure to apply this template to the remaining few projects. https://jmp.sh/ykbhODha
Few key points to keep in mind
- When you edit a Project with Brizy, you loose the content that you have added in Gutenberg directly. Therefore I have moved your Pods custom fields to the sidebar. Please update your project content in the sidebar
- The Excerpt normally appears in the sidebar. It does not appear in the sidebar for Projects some reason. You mat want to add an extra custom field for Excerpt so that it appears in the Projects side bar
- Edit every project in Brizy and replace the short code for the gallery with the correct gallery shortcode.
Please get back to us, if you have any question.
