    Hi Chinthaka,

Please have a look at my responses to your questions.

    1) Does Brizy Cloud allow me to create a complete ecommerce site without needing WordPress, WooCommerce and a WP theme like Blocksy?

Yes; when the feature is fully developed, it would work without the need for WordPress, Woocommerce and a WP theme

    2) Can I move my website to Brizy Cloud from my hosting provider?

No; you can't move it using an automated process. You will have to recreate your shop in Brizy Cloud

     3) Is there a link between Brizy Pro and Brizy Cloud?

In WordPress, Brizy WP integrates with Woocommerce whereas in Brizy Cloud it integration with ECWID. Since Woocommerce and ECWID are two different ecommerce systems, there is no interoperability between the two solutions. Hence you cannot move ecommerce from WordPress to Brizy Cloud.

    4) As with Building an ecommerce site with WP/WooCommerce or with a solution like Shopify/Wix/BigCommerce, would I be needing to install/purchase additional plugins to enhance the functionality of my webshop made with Brizy Clould Shop standard edition?

With the ECWID integration, you would be able to carry out the entire shopping workflow starting with Product Catalog, Single Product page, Cart page, Checkout page, Account page, Payment options, etc. It would be an end to end solution. I guess most users would not need additional plugins. (You may need additional plugin, if you have a use case for which the current shopping workflow is insufficient)

    Hi George,

Thank you for your detailed response. If you could, please advise me on the following questions, it will better help me make a decision on how to go head with my site development.

The site has to have ecommerce functionality and be multilingual. It will also have a blog. Currently, it uses WordPress, Blocksy theme, Brizy Pro and WooCommerce. I have paid hosting and domain name.

    1) If I decide to switch to Brizy Cloud, I believe I no longer have to pay for hosting but can link my domain to my store. Will I still be able to have the above-mentioned language and blogging options incorporated?

    2) If I keep the WordPress setup and use Ecwid as the ecommerce solution instead of WooCommerce, will I be able to edit Ecwid pages with Brizy Pro?

    3) As I'm still not ready to sell, I have some time left till I have to launch the site. Do you have any rough estimate when the 'shop' features of Brizy Cloud be ready?

    4) If I start selling through the current WordPress/WooCommerce site and decide to shift to Brizy Cloud when it's available, is there a way to keep the functionality of the existing site till the Brizy Cloud site is launched on the same domain? Also is there a use of my Brizy Pro subscription with this project, after switching to Brizy Cloud?

    Thank you.

    Hi Chinthaka,

Please see my responses to your questions.

    1) If I decide to switch to Brizy Cloud, I believe I no longer have to pay for hosting but can link my domain to my store. Will I still be able to have the above-mentioned language and blogging options incorporated?

Yes; you do not have to pay extra for hosting and can link your domain to your Brizy Cloud store. However the translation feature in Brizy Cloud is not yet officially launched and should not be used on a client project at the moment. This could change by the time you need to launch your site.

    2) If I keep the WordPress setup and use Ecwid as the ecommerce solution instead of WooCommerce, will I be able to edit Ecwid pages with Brizy Pro?

We have not worked out integration with the ECWID plugin; hence you could face incompatibility issue with it. At the moment Brizy WP works smoothly only with woocommerce.

    3) As I'm still not ready to sell, I have some time left till I have to launch the site. Do you have any rough estimate when the 'shop' features of Brizy Cloud be ready?

While we do not have ETA for this feature, this may be available only by December this year.

When the shop functionality will be ready, you can start replicating your store in Brizy Cloud on a subdomain and when you are ready to switch your domain, it will switch from your WordPress store to the Brizy Cloud store smoothly. However any data about past order fulfillments like client list, order history, reviews etc. will not move over to the Cloud.

If you currently have a Brizy WordPress license, you will need a new Brizy Cloud licence to setup your store. Once you make the switch to the Brizy Cloud store, your Brizy WP licence will not be useful for this project. If you are a web developer, you can continue to develop new projects using your Brizy WP licence.

When will the ECWID integration with Brizy cloud be live? Some of us are taking on new projects in the new year and want to use Brizy Cloud instead of Wordpress, but the Ecomm functionality is key!!! Please give us a firm date range when this feature will go live!!

    Hi Timothy,

We are still working on the Ecommerce Integration via ECWID. https://trello.com/c/gwU5Zw1h Unfortunately we can't specify a launch date. Hopefully it should happen in the first half of 2023.
