    Hi Erin,

Thanks; we will add this to our Feature Requests.

In the meantime please check out Elfsight Podcast Player that you can embed to Brizy Cloud or Brizy WP.

Thanks for the feature request add and suggestion. Can I add the code for this Elf-sight podcast player to my Brizy template for specific posts types? I already have custom fields for posts in my podcast category. So I’d need this player to use the link from one of those custom fields. Is all of that doable?

    Hi Erin,

If you are using WordPress, you can also consider alternate podcast/audio player plugins. However you may not be able to add the audio URL dynamically based on custom fields. Instead of adding the URL to custom fields, please consider adding it directly in the page as part of the content.

Here’s a link to one of my podcast posts: https://lifebeyondparenting.com/guilty-pleasures-and-spicy-contemporary-romance-w-gina-colegrove/

This post is based on my Brizy template.

As you can see, I have buttons with external links to Spotify & Apple. And the links for these buttons come from the custom fields I created for my podcast category.

I want to also add an audio player to the post, so people don’t have to click to an external source.

    So, a few questions:

    1. Can I edit the individual post using Brizy to add an audio player that will stream the audio from Spotify or Apple? (I don’t want to bog down my site by uploading the audio files to WP.)

    2. Will editing the individual post with Brizy break its connection to the template?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Erin,

You can; when you edit your blogposts with Brizy, your new Brizy design will override your Brizy template for that specific blog post. You can follow these steps If you would like to edit any of your blogpost with Brizy

    • Copy the text content from your blog post preview and paste it into a document.
    • Edit the blog post with Brizy. You will get a blank page.
    • Add your global header and footer to the blank Brizy page
    • Add a hero block with the Title, breadcrumbs and the post date and make it global. Add the Display Condition to include the global block to all blog posts.
    • Add a content block with two columns. On the left hand side column, add the Text content you have copied and pasted
    • On the right hand side column, add an audio/player using shortcode to play the podcast
