Dynamic templates in Brizy pro 2.4

Is it correct, archives templates don't work with CPT's? I could not find about this any infos in support or in videos. All just shows samples with standard settings. Is here something in the pipeline to come up here with some more features. Otherwise, will test WP Grid Builder if working with Brizy.

    Hi Gottfried,

    Yes; many of our customers are using custom post types with Brizy. The Archive Template should work well with CPTs. I recommend  using PODS for custom post types. If you are adding custom fields, please use Advanced Custom Fields plugin along with PODS.

    Thank you for your quick answer. I prefer ACT, have an LTD for ACF pro, but can test with PODS. But will test again, can be the setting for the templates appearance was wrong set. Is where some more docu to found?

    There isn't a specific procedure for CPTs. You can follow the procedure in this video and choose CPT in place of Posts. https://youtu.be/cWJEetL4f-s

    Good details in the video. But sometimes such videos are not easy to find. Will come with comments after creating some more CPT's.

    I found the issue with CPT's. Yes, I can add cards based on CTP. But.. no preview during build the page. Preview shows only the WP PT. And in the case you have no custom PT data, you see nothing and this is confusing. So to have some data then adding cards, you always need some data in WP PT.

    And another detail. in the cards no background color could be added, only picture, video or map. So you need to add some CSS, this works then easy. But not during build.

    this is to see when I build the template. Only on first card you see the background. And content is used from the default or the only WP PT data

     

    and here is the preview with the correct data from the CPTG I selected. All is just testing, no final data and design. But with some CSS you can setup nice looking cards

    Your previous post came across more like you were sharing some of your findings. I wasn't sure if you were expecting a reply from us. If you are still looking for a solution, what would be your question?

    The question here is, is it the case, what preview of cards works only with the first set os WP PostType and not with Custom Post typ? Is this a momentatary limit who will be solved in a later update, or a bug, or a handling problem on my side.

    Hi Gottfried,

    At the moment, for WordPress blog posts and custom posts types, dynamic element preview is not available when developing Brizy Templates using the Archive element. This is a known issue and we are working on fixing it.

    However if you are using the 'Posts' element to display custom post types, all dynamic elements are visible in the editor. You can also apply background colors for your cards. Please take a look at this screen recording.  https://jmp.sh/z9lbAAW
