Perhaps by default 'hidden' when 'empty' - so that they become 'visible' only when there is an image added...

    Hi Charles,

We are sorry; we do not have this feature. We have added a Feature Request for this.

Just discovered that the annoying and unwanted picture placeholders do not show up on a iphone using safari - but a big gap appears.

Would I be able to hid this asset items with css 'display: none'??

    Hi Charles,

Here is something to consider. Since all your books do not have those extra cover images (or majority books may not have the extra images). why not add those images as static? You can have just one dynamic image for each book and all the other images are added directly using the image element into the book page.

This is one way to get rid of the image placeholders

Would that work? At the moment the site is set up with Global Blocks. I have tried a few pages with small transparent gifs as the extra images. It works but will be a long job putting all the pages right!

Is the css 'display: none' option a non-starter??

    Hi Charles,

It can work if you modify your book page design in such a way that the extra images are moved to a different block. For example, take a look at an alternate design here. https://digital-works.brizy.site/design

If you follow a new design like above, you can keep the extra cover images in a saved block. Main book cover and other dynamic content can continue to remain within global blocks.

Thanks for you suggestion. It is a possibility. But I would like to keep the layout for the page to header, footer and one global block, if possible.

Can I ask you again if it is possible to hide elements with .css. Can you show me how to give an element on a page a unique ID so that I can then hide it with my own additional css.

    Hi Charles

I tried the CSS option to hide the additional images l. I can hide all images, but could not find an option to selectively hide a specific image.
