SVG can't load
Hello,
I am using Brizy Cloud Pro and I am not able to load svg files. I cannot use them in the image element nor as a background. Could there be a problem on my side or Brizy Cloud doesnt support it yet?
Is there any other way how to upload svg background?

Hi Pavel,
Brizy Cloud does support uploading of SVG files. You can also add a SVG backgrounds. Please take a look at this screen recording. https://jmp.sh/tnKV0hb

Thank you for your prompt reply.
That is what I thought, that Brizy Cloud supports SVGs. Unfortunately, I don't know why but I am not able to load them in my project. Is it possible that there is a problem with the file itself? I have downloaded svg background from here https://www.svgbackgrounds.com/ and I have tried also more different files and they didn't load.0 -
Hi Pavel,
Can you try this? Please convert any of your JPG file to SVG using this service. https://convertio.co/jpg-svg/ and then try uploading the converted file.
Do you know if this problem is specific to specific project or do you face this issue across multiple projects?

Thank you. I found some svg files that work with no problem but some don't, for example from here https://www.svgbackgrounds.com/
I don't know why, but I found a way around it. I can upload svg file here https://www.svgviewer.dev/ and then download it again and then it works in Brizy.I think that issue is across multiple projects.
I don't know what is the problem and it would be easier if any svg file can be used in Brizy, but at least it is possible to do it as described above.

Any chance Brizy could preserve the SVG meta data when we upload? This would allow us to use the interactivity of the svg file when needed. Thanks.

Hi Bogdan,
I am sorry; I am new to this topic. I want to understand your request better.
- Do you think Brizy does not preserve the SVG's meta data?
- You said it will "allow us to use the interactivity of the svg file when needed". Can you elaborate this? What would be an example of interactivity in the context of web design?

Hi, yes when I upload an SVG file it does not preserve the data..or better said, the links embedded inside the svg file. Of course it works when I use the html code of the svg, but I was wondering how to import the file itself in order to be able on the front side to interact with it (active hyperlinks for example). If that's possible.

Hi Bogdan,
You are right; when you upload an SVG file using the Brizy Cloud image element, its markups get lost. The only way to preserve the SVG markups is to paste the SVG code into the Brizy Embed element. However this isn't useful as you can't resize the image and place it appropriately in your design.
Please see my test page; you can see that the SVG image is hyperlinked. https://digital-works.brizy.site/slider

Yes, my solution as well, albeit not ideal at all, especially for quick edits.
