    Hi Chris

To edit the forum pages using Brizy, please follow these steps

    1. Open the specific Forum page in Gutenberg editor and copy the short code
    2. Click on "Edit With Brizy". A blank page will open
    3. In the blank page, add your global header, global footer and add a content block in between the header and the footer
    4. In the content block, drag and drop the "shortcode" element and paste the short code.

Thanks for this.  Unfortunately, their plugin doesn't seem to work that way with some of it's sub-pages.

When you activate the plugin it automatically creates a Forum page as well as a Topics page.  However the Topics page, though it gives me a Brizy editable page, it doesn't offer any sort of order to the topics.  It just puts all the topics on the page no matter what Forum they were part of or Category.

ForumWP does allow you to view all the Forums together using this short code [fmwp_forums /].  So I created my Forums on the backend and then put that shortcode on the page and it displayed all my Forums together. (see here https://sentonesnetwork.com/wp/forums/ ) I like how that looks. The problem occurs when I click on one of those forums found on that page such as "Aid and Relief".  It takes me to a page that is "hidden" from where you'd find all the "Pages" in settings ( https://sentonesnetwork.com/wp/forum/aid-and-relief/ ).  That hidden page doesn't give me access to the Gutenberg editor.  The same is true if I click one of the Topics on that page such as "General Tips for Involvement".  That also takes me to a page that I can't edit with Brizy.

I'm happy to give you admin access if you'd like.

    Hi Chris,

The ForumWP plugin is designed to work with your theme header and theme footer. ForumWP does not allow you to use the Brizy header and footer. Hence when you navigate from one of your current pages which uses Brizy header and Brizy footer to a Forum page which uses the theme header and footer it feels like you are switching from one website to another. To overcome this problem, let me suggest a solution.

    1. Change to a WordPress theme which has an in-built a header footer builder: If the "Woodworking Carpenter" theme does not support header and footer builder, change to another theme like Blocksy or Astra. https://wordpress.org/themes/blocksy/   https://pcm.wordpress.org/themes/astra/
    2. Design a header and a footer for all your pages using your theme's header footer builder.
    3. Change all your pages from "Brizy Template" to "Default Template". This will ensure that your pages use the theme header and footer (and not Brizy header and footer)

When you follow these steps, your Forum pages and rest of your website will have same header and footer and you would not feel that you are navigating away to another website when you move to the Forum pages.

Thank you.  That was VERY helpful.  Just so I understand you correctly, you are saying that if I want to use this forum so that it looks like the rest of the site, I can't use Brizy on any of the site pages?  Is it not possible to use Astra or Blocksy on just those pages where I use ForumWP?  I'm sort of new to WP.

    Hi Chris

Since ForumWP cannot work with Brizy header and footer, I am suggesting you use theme header and footer for all your pages. I am not suggesting that you stop using Brizy for your website.

Let's say, you design your homepage using the "Default Template", then your homepage header and footer will come from your theme, but your page content can be designed in Brizy. If you follow the approach I have recommended above, non forum pages (like Home, About, Contact) can have theme header and footer and it can have the page content designed using Brizy.

"Is it not possible to use Astra or Blocksy on just those pages where I use ForumWP?" Yes; you can use the theme header on all forum pages and use Brizy header and footer on all other pages. However in this case you need to ensure that the Brizy header and footer look exactly same as your theme header and footer (visually).

It would be a bit challenging to understand what I am saying above if you have not worked with "Default Template" earlier. As you begin to work it out, you will develop better clarity.
