Fixed background scroll problem safari

We are on multiple websites that are using the “fixed” background image, experiencing extreme scroll problems. What happens is that the background image is not able to stay “fixed” and the whole websites becomes extremely laggy.

This is an issue that only (as far as we know) are occurring on safari, and we do not know what could cause such an issue. When using Google Chrome, it works seamlessly.

Ways we have tried to solve this that have not worked:
- Create 1 big block of the content and not have a fixed image over 2 blocks

- Remove other “animation effects”

- Minimize other content on site

- Downsize the resolution of the fixed background

- Used different formats for the background image

 

Things that have worked:

- Remove all fixed backgrounds
