Changing IP of domain is Mandatory or Not

Hello,

If website start functioning by just changing the CNAME record then is it necessory to change the IP as well. Subdomains just require CNAME to be changed but main domain also shows that IP should also be changed where as domain functions perfectly without changing the IP.

Kindly someone address this quesion.

  Do you have a page URL that is published without the A record? 

  Our "old" projects could be connected only with the cname record, while the new type of projects (CMS featured) will be published and secured only with cname+a records.
