Image captions in gallery

Is it possible to add captions to images in the gallery and if not will it be at some point and if yes then when. Preferably an on hover type.

  Hi,

  it's not possible at the moment but we have this on our feature requests list. It's still on the list so we do not have any ETA but we will definitely add this feature as there are a lot of requests.

  Hello !

  Is there some news about this ? I would like to display photos credits and copyrights on this way in galleries, and currently I'm not able to display that.

  with the new gallery update would be good to get the captions especially in something like the lightbox
