Menu In Tablet Landscape Mode
Hi,
I've been told that even if the menu in tablet portrait mode has been changed to a hamburger, the full menu is automatically restored on changing to landscape. Currently, my full menu refuses to work in tablet landscape mode.
This is not a minor issue, like some coding problem that can wait on your to-do list, it's a major functionality issue, in the client's line of sight.
If I build a client's site & they come back and tell me their menu isn't working in tablet mode, there's nothing I can say or do to help fix it. There's a very good chance this client would then look elsewhere for a platform where their menus actually work.
I know it's on your to-do list...however, it really needs an immediate fix in view of the above.
Please let me have any possible workarounds, or failing that, how soon will you fix this issue?
Cheers.
Regards,
David

Hi David,
let's clarify one thing: is the problem with the menu that appears full in tablet landscape does not work (you can not click on any link or does not appear at all) or the problem is that menu on landscape mode does not turn into a hamburger menu and remains full?

Hi Alex, the situation is as follows:
1. The menu in landscape does not turn into a hamburger and the menu remains full.
ALSO2. The full menu in landscape only works if there is no drop down element, or only 1 drop-down level.
In other words, the menu links work on the top level links, but any links with 2nd 3rd or 4th level drop downs causes the page to refresh to the page it was already on.
You can see this on theoryfish.digital and wighttheory.com
On both sites, the 'About' and 'Contact' links work, but the others do not

Hi,
1) this is not a problem, that's how it works. The problem is that the landscape screen width is larger, almost like on the laptop, but the hamburger menu is applied on the maximum width of 990px if I'm not mistaken.
2) This is because there is no hover action on the tablet, so the submenu will appear on the click action. Now, because you have an active link on the parent item, it will go there rather than open the submenu. The solution, in this case, is not to use links for the parent item if you have sub-items. You can simply add "#" to the parent link and it will work fine. Please refer to these screenshots: https://jmp.sh/fvsWDPl -> https://jmp.sh/sJtkyyT
I understand that it is not the most convenient thing and that improvements are needed but that's how it works at the moment. I will add an internal note in this regard and we will look for a solution. Maybe we can disable the link from the parent item when switching to the tablet, or something like this.
