Dynamic entry of date on "Timer"

Hi, I'm using dynamic fields on a blog post- every other entry is coming in fine, except the date for the Countdown element. I am using a plain text field, and the format DD/MM/YYYY, but when I try to bring this in dynamically, it doesn't show up correctly.

Is there anything obvious I may be missing?

  Thanks Nelea, but the video didn't show the value being pulled in from the dynamic field entry (hope I've got the terminology right?). I mean using the menu thing beside the date- see picture. This doesn't seem to be working for me.
