Quirks and bugs
Hi,
now working 2 weeks with Brizy, one goes to learning, one to try to fix bugs.
The recent mostly are regarding the link behaviour. Since I'm online with my site the most links are broken and my tryings go to last for a while workday. Which is not pleasing. I make sites (not as my main activity) since 20 years and some behaviours in Brizy I don't understand - but I learn.
You can follow my topics on the live site: ulipreiss.de
The same on Brizy Cloud. I think you will find it. I changed the URL from the Brizy cloud to my custom one which causes some og the problems I think.
On the site:
Button links: in the hero block a Kontakt button points correctly to the block link [kontakt]. Some blocks below in the 'komponist' block a button with the exact same capture does not, it jumps to the top.
All other button links aimed to page links lead to a 404 page. In question is the button link capture. My first suggestion is that the synthx '/page' should work. But obviouly doesn't. I tried a bunge of synthaxes - all failed.
Than - after changing the first character in the page names from upper to lower case, all links on the assets/pages page under 'link' column hit a 404 page and seem to be broken. Without the first, the /home.
This morning I had to find the 'main menu' changed the visual names on the screen to he lower case form like the link names (musiker) and changed the names (should be Musiker) as the page set up correctly shows.
In the header I have a brand logo picture which should hit the '/home' link but all tryings and link names versions failed - it leads to a 404.
The footer menu remains untouched and works correctly - names with upper case, links w/ lower case.
Flawlessly and succesfully I transferred the html files to my custom work space via ftp, but the server sync setup was not successful yet. But this possibly is a external problem.
All that tryings had the same results in Safari or Chrome on the Mac M1 either with emptied caches or not.
Best regards
Uli

Hi Uli,
indeed something strange is happening with your links. How was the site published: ulipreiss.de ? Did you use Export HTML or Server Sync? In both cases, the problems with the links are most likely due to the configuration of the .htaccess file. That means, there's something outside of Brizy Cloud.
If you say the same thing happens in the Brizy Cloud project, could you please send us a direct link to that project so we can take a look?

Hi Alex,
thanks for your reply. With some actions I got rid of all problems and got my site published via html-export. What is not the most elegant way but very safe for the published files and I appreciate this method. For me this is a killer feature of Brizy cause I can check and test the site offline and publish the files vie ftp when approved.
There are some behaviours of Brizy I don't understand but on the other hand there are great features for layouting and for now I'm very pleased with the result. I'm learning.
Server sync I will check out in the future and you're right with your supposing regarding .htaccess file. This I've to check on the IP side which is on it's way.
Cheers,
Uli
