publish custom domain only with A record

Hello,

I am trying to publish to my custom domain. The email service that I use, proton mail, is very secure and therefore requires the use of both A records and CNAME records.

Is there a workaround so that I can publish my website on Brizy only using A records (since I can only use one CNAME, which I need for proton mail)?

  Hello Michele,

  Web and email hosting use different DNS records. A and CNAME records point a domain name to a web server for hosting, whereas MX records direct incoming emails to the correct mail server. In your scenario, the CNAME record you add to the domain will point to your Brizy Cloud site.

  Proton Mail may require you to add the following records, but not a CNAME record. Feel free to confirm this with their support.

  • TXT record to show domain ownership
  • An MX record to route inbound mail
  • An SPF record to validate senders
  • DKIM records to sign emails
  • DMARC record to enforce security policies
