Frontend broken after Brizy update – Editor works correctly, frontend loading incorrect CSS assets
Hello Brizy Support,
I'm experiencing an issue with my website after updating Brizy, and I would appreciate your help.
Website:
https://mkgeneralcontracting.com
Problem
The website displays correctly inside the Brizy editor, but the frontend is broken. The page layout is missing styles such as background images, spacing, and other section styling.
What I've already tried
- Updated to the latest versions of Brizy and Brizy Pro.
- Previously rolled back to the versions recommended by Brizy Support, then reinstalled the latest versions.
- Deactivated and reinstalled both Brizy and Brizy Pro.
- Cleared all WordPress and browser cache.
- Updated the affected pages in the Brizy editor multiple times.
- Verified the issue in different browsers and devices.
- Confirmed the editor displays the page correctly.
- Verified WordPress has write permissions to the filesystem (Site Health reports all required directories as writable).
- Checked the plugin files on the server and confirmed the Brizy assets are present.
What I found
The frontend HTML is still generating these asset references:
/wp-content/plugins/brizy/public/editor-build/prod/editor/css/preview.min.css
/wp-content/plugins/brizy-pro/public/editor-build/prod/css/preview.pro.min.css
These files return 404 Not Found.
However, the installed Brizy plugin contains the newer CSS assets such as:
group-1_2.min.css
group-all.min.css
main.base.min.css
main.editor.min.css
These files exist on the server and can be accessed directly.
This makes it appear that the frontend is still referencing legacy Brizy assets even after reinstalling the latest versions.
Current State
- Brizy editor works correctly.
- Pages display correctly inside the editor.
- Frontend layout is broken.
- Browser Developer Tools show 404 errors for
preview.min.cssandpreview.pro.min.css. - The page source is still outputting links to these missing files.
Environment
- Brizy: Latest version
- Brizy Pro: Latest version
- WordPress: Latest version
- PHP: 8.4
- Theme: Astra
- Hosting: Bluehost
Could you please advise how to regenerate or rebuild the frontend assets so the page references the correct CSS files?
If you need temporary administrator access or any additional information, I'd be happy to provide it.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
Belle

Hi Kriza,
Please ensure you’re using Brizy version 2.8.21 and Brizy Pro version 2.8.12, then check whether this resolves the issue.
If the problem persists, please install and activate the Layout Recompiler plugin.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/layout-recompiler-for-brizy/Once activated, go to Tools > Layout Recompiler and click Start Recompilation. Allow the recompilation process to complete and check if the website looks good in the frontend.
Please let us know if the issue continues.
