Why does my slug default to /blog-2?

Hi there, on GephartCreative.com, I want to create a blog. There is no blog in my current Pages, but my new blog page slug is defaulting to /blog-2. Why does this happen? How can I prevent it in the future? And... how can this blog page be named "blog", not "blog-2" in this project? Thanks!

  Hello Michelle,

  The /blog slug is being used for your blog post category "blog". Under CMS> Posts > Categories, if you delete the "Blog" category, the slug can be reused for a page.
