Archive template page logic
Hi there - I'm a novice in the world of web design and I love Brizy - I am not sure if I've discovered a bug or I'm doing something incorrectly. I think I understand templates and archives - thanks for your fab videos - but there's something not quite right. I'm trying to create some different types of blog pages for posts. Some of them will show standard blog type entries (I'm calling this 'interesting stuff') but others will show details of the programs, coaching and other services that I offer. I want to do these as posts rather than as static pages to take advantage of the dynamic menus that I learned how to make watching one of your webinars. My idea was that I will use categories and then 'exclude' certain types of categories from some pages. But I can't get it to work. This (unlisted) video shows you what I"m doing and what I see. https://youtu.be/srZfTYsDPco

Hi Cathryn,
Thank you for getting in touch with us and for proving us with all these details. Yes, at the moment we have a bug with "Exclude" and our developers already work on it to solve as soon as possible. I'm sorry for this inconvenience.
Also, I want to add that if you use the display condition you show us in the video ("Include - Category - [Name od category 1]" and "Include - Category - [Name of category 2]") then it isn't necessary to add an exclude condition for Category 3. By default, the template you created will be applied only to the Category 1 and Category 2. For Category 3 it will not be applied. You can try and test it. If you can to create another template for the Category 3, you can create it and add the Include condition for Category 3 or if you will not create a template for category 3 then, this page will have the theme design, styles and structure.
Let us know if we can help you with something else.
Best regards,

Thank you Sandra, much appreciated.
The 'second' category in my video was supposed to be an 'exclude' category, but it shows as include. However, the explanation you've given really helps. If I only had one category, would it only include that one category (and by default exclude all others?). What I was trying to do was include all [Parent category] other than [2 excluded sub categories].
Ultimately I have fixed it by creating some additional parents and sub categories. Every day I learn a little more!
Thanks for getting back so quickly. You had a tough day yesterday!

Hi,
Thank you for your reply! Yes, you are right with both aspects :) :
1 - If you add an Include condition for a single category, it will be displayed only on that category and will exclude all other categories. Great that you could solve this inconvenience and all is working fine!2 - Yes, we have a hard day yesterday but we strived to help as many users as we can and it is a very pleasant feeling to hear that all our effort are appreciated. Thank you very much!
Let us know if we can help you with something else.
Best regards,
Sandra0
