    Hi,

At the moment, we don't recognize the webp image format. We are working on this image module and when it will be released then will be possible to convert images to this format and use them in Brizy pages without any problems. Now, we kindly ask you not to convert them to webp image format.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sandra

Hi, it's been a year and webp has not been added, please consider there's plenty of people that would like to use it.

A year ago it was promised in the "next update".

    Thanks

    Hi,

Now the images in Brizy WordPress are loading originals so if you upload webp it will work. Have you tried this and had any problems?

This woudl be great for Brizy Could and speed up the sites - putting less stress on the Brizy Servers, right?

    Hi Philip,

Webp images can be uploaded using Brizy. It should work like this https://jmp.sh/Kz2lwAc

What happens when you try to upload a webp file? Do you see an error? Can you share a screenshot of the problem?

    Hi Philip,

WordPress 5.8 onwards support webp images. In your WordPress Dashboard under Dashboard - Update can you please check your WordPress version number?  https://jmp.sh/Oe63wQY

    I'm in Brizy Cloud.

    Hi Philip,

With Brizy Cloud, you cannot upload image files in webp format. However when you upload a file in JPG or PNG format, Brizy Cloud appears to convert it into webp format automatically. Please watch this video https://jmp.sh/jIj3mh5

On your Brizy Cloud website, please check the file format of the website in the front end.

Thank you. Should I compress my image files before loading them in Brizy Cloud? Or does the compression and webp feature in Brizy Cloud do this automatically?

    Hi Phiip,

Yes; resizing and compressing your images is recommended before uploading to Brizy Cloud.

If I upload a png/jpg in Brizy cloud, Brizy cloud will automatically convert to webp. Does Brizy cloud though deploy a fallback in case webp cannot be served to the end user's browser due to an out-of-date version? In other words, if the end user's browser doesnt support webp, Brizy will automatically serve the png/jpg file so it doesn't show up as missing. Shortpixel has this fallback in place placing a snippet of code in the htaccess file.

Please tell me this is possible with Brizy cloud as I have more than 100 images to upload.

    Thanks!

    Hi Joseph,

We have not tested this either hence not sure about the results. I guess Brizy Cloud does not offer a fallback image option.

Can you please explain why Brizy Cloud doesnt convert these images to webp:

    https://i.imgur.com/FQ4NLoe.jpg

When you save these images on this page, they show either png or jpg:

    https://successjoegeorge.com/success-stories-demo/

Please note, this page was created on Brizy Cloud and I uploaded it to my WPX Hosting server via server sync.

However, if I access to this page via Brizy Cloud dashboard using the subdomain, the webp images display:

    https://raspberry15293316.brizy.site/

Why doesnt server sync show webp images if they are hosted on Brizy Cloud?

    Hi Joseph,

As you can see on this page, https://bunny.net/optimizer/ automatic webp conversion is a feature Bunny CDN offers. Brizy Cloud websites are deployed through Bunny CDN and hence you get this benefit when your websites are hosted with Brizy Cloud. If you host your website on an external server, you do not get this benefit offered by Bunny CDN.
