Posts element in Brizy Pro
I'm struggling to try to understand how to create a Brizy template using the Posts Element - I've sat through Dimi's video on the subject several times and am no wiser, especially since it refers to an element called Archives which is not listed on my Brizy Pro.
Can you point to somebody/somewhere I can find clear instructions on how to use this properly
Thanks
Gerry

Hi,
From the moment we released that video with how to create a Blog with Brizy we released some modifications for the Dynamic Content and Brizy templates. Now the Archive element is available when you create an archive template https://jmp.sh/CEBKLWk. Here, you can find the Archive element.
If you need some help in creating a Blog page or Category page, please inform us regarding the step you stoped, what you created till this moment and what you want to create further but you didn't succeed.
Thanks!

Thanks Sandra - I found the Archive link yesterday and managed to create an archive page with links to individual posts. I am new to both wordpress (about 4 weeks in) and Brizy (3 weeks) so I 'm still finding my way.
What I've done so far is create a few posts, with featured images using standard WP and the Blocksy template. Each post has two categories ie Blog plus something else(I have set up a total of 4 categories including generic Blog), just to separate them out. I've created two Brizy templates, one for single posts and the second for archives. The main menu includes an item BLOG which links to the WP posts and I have a second menu on the brizy archive template, called blog categories which is set up to link to the separate categories
At the moment I'd like to know
1) what is the point of a single post template, what would I use it for and how is is displayed on the browser - in standard WP all the posts are directed to a dedicated post page ie the archive page. So can I have custom single posts displayed on my Brizy archive template and how would I do that?
2) what is the connection between the single post template and the archive post template
3) how to edit the excerpts element ie change the amount of text displayed on the archive screen.
4) why the featured image is shown on the archive page but not when I click to get the actual post.
But what I'd really like is a JP video on all the things you can do with singe post templates and archive templates! The Brizy video archive on youtube is very scant in this area.
Thank you for your help, its much appreciated and BTW I think Brizy is great!

Hi Gerald,
Thank you for all these details.
1) The template for Single Post helps you to design the view of a single post. Un this template you can use Post Content, Post Title, Post Navigation and other WP elements related to a post. Also, you can add an image element and there select the "Featured image" to display the featured image of the post. This template will take all details from the post and will display them in the way you indicate in the template. Having such a template, when you will be on the Blog page and will click on the "read more" from a post, you will be redirected to the post but the design of the post will the that you created in the template.
2) There is no connection between the Single Post template and the Archive Template. The Single Post template is related to the way is display a single post/page and the Archive template works with archive pages where is displayed all posts based on some criteria.
3) Unfortunately, isn't possible to change the amount of text displayed in the Post Excerpt element. If you want to add your custom excerpt, you can set it from here, from the single post.
4) Did you created a single template for all posts? Did you add there an image element? If you added an image element, you have to select to display the "Featured Image" from here.
Let us know if we can help you with something else.
Best regards,

Thanks Sandra, I think I'm beginning to get the hang of it!
Final question - do you have any sample single page or archive post templates that I could download?
It would allow me to learn all the nuances.
Best wishes
Gerald

Hi,
It's my pleasure to help you!
Unfortunately, at the moment we don't have a sample template that could be downloaded. We plan to release some layouts for the blog page, posts, category page, etc. that could be used as the predefined blocks or layouts. Thanks!
Best regards,
Sandra0
