Active State In Blog Category Not Working

I have three blog categories in a menu.  The active state does not change when a category is selected.  It will simply stays on the previous category.

There was a similar posting here, that seemed to have the same issue.

Before you ask, yes, my menu options are listed as Category, they are not customized menu options.

You can see in the screenshots below that the active selection is on the incorrect menu option.
