Custom Footer and Header issues with Astra PRO theme
Hi, as Astra is a Brizy's supported (and adviced) theme, we expect that it works file in all features, but I'm facing the following issue:
I've installed Astra PRO theme, using Astra's Custom Layouts feature to build Header and Footer trought Brizy editor.
I got this way as a workaround, as it seems that Brizy's internal Header and Footer features conflicts with some other plugin, resulting in no showing Header and Footer on all pages/post.
But using Astra's Custom Layouts I'm facing a more weird issue: sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. More, when it works, if I update Header and footer, modifications are NOT then displayed on pages...
IMPORTANT: this is NOT a plugins conflict problem: I've set up a bare metal test site with only Astra and Brizy, but problem is still there!
I've set up an Admin login for you; as it is a test enviroment you can do what you want to have things sorted out; I've also prepared a short recorded video to show you exactly what I mean:

Hi, Enrico,
Thank you for all these details. I delete the WP credentials from this post to not them public. We investigated with one of our developers the problem you encounter and we found that it isn't related to Brizy because it is happening in the Astra Custom Layout. Could you please contact the Astra team and inform them regarding this problem?
Thanks!
Best regards,

It's not easy to know if it's related or NOT to Brizy, as Astra works perfectly with ALL editors, and, moreover, YOU advice Astra within Brizy's compatible themes.
What is SHURE is that you easily wash your ends when it's time to point and fix some weird issue. You were before behind Unyson builder, and out of the blue left all your customers without support, so it seems that you think that support on your products it's not your core business, but I think you have to change your mind about this.
BTW your products are great, but support is absolutely NOT at same level.
When you get the chance, you easily answer that's not your business, without investigate a bit more, leaving us in trouble.
You advice to use Astra theme; moreover Astra has NOT this issue with Elementor/Gutenberg and so on, as I've tested personally, so, are you SO SHURE it's Astra's problem and not yours?
More of all, I'm facing this problem because Brizy's Header and Footer features (yes, Brizy's one, not Astra's one) are NOT WORKING with some plugins (you can check about this issue my previous tickets).
FYI: I've contacted Astra support, and they, in a way VERY DIFFERENT from yours, instead of answer, like you did "that is Brizy's issue, ask them", they pointed quickly the root problem and adviced me a workaround to go on, in the meantime that a patch (on Brizy?) will be realized.
That's what we call effective support, what makes Astra a best choice, and what makes Brizy a choice about think well about.

Hi, Enrico,
I'm sorry for your feelings and for your opinion about Brizy support. We don't "wash our hands" and we do not tend or want to leave our users without support. We care a lot for our users. If you will look in our community you will see that we strive to help all our users and a lot of users are happy with our support. We ask about details and try to offer a high level of support. Yes, sometimes we may wrong (because we like you are humans and not robots) or sometimes we can't help our users because the problem isn't in our capacity to help (for example other plugins, themes, tools). Therefore I don't think you have to criticize us so severely.
Back to the problem - could you please inform us what was the problem? What Astra said to you? How they fixed this issue? Thanks!
Best regards,
Sandra0 -
I understand and agree with you about what you mean about humans, but you too have to understand that for us is really hard to be locked in trouble for hours or days while we (like you) have to complete our work's tasks.
I've buyed (and paid) Brizy and faced a Brizy's Header and Footer features incompatibility issue with Estatik plugin; so, I've tried Elementor, and Elementor's Header and footer were working fine, but at the end I prefer Brizy like builder tool, and I prefer to be well skilled with one builder that medium skilled with 20. So I've purchased Astra, and it is really a great theme. Astra's Header and Footer were working, but without reliability, showing weird behaviour... You know the following story from here...
Astra's support luckily for me debugged, and found that Header and Footer CSS is rebuild JUST and ONLY when you click on "preview", otherwise modifications are only showed in builder, recorded, but not showed on live pages... in other words, something locks CSS updating, but it is possible to manually force CSS rebuilding. Now, knowing this, it is possible to go on working, overcaming issue.
This Header and Footer issue with Astra theme happens only with Brizy, not with other builders, the same with Estatik plugin, so I think you have to check something in Header and Footer features, keeping in mind that header and footer are not secondary elements in sites.
That said, Brizy is great and I find it more intuitive than Elementor, but it seems that needs some more time to be completely mature.
Have a good day
Enrico

Hi,
Could you please check if you have the latest Brizy Free 2.2.7 and Brizy Pro 2.2.4 version? Yes, I notice that you indicated you have the latest versions but we need to be sure you have these versions. Also, could you please temporarily deactivate all external plugins (except Brizy Free and Brizy Pro)? Do you receive the same problem?
How did you create the header and footer?
Best regards,
Sandra0 -
I'm using the free version of brizy on this site (Versión 2.2.7 ), not the pro, I have all the other plugins deactivated, I need a solution because this site is for a client, and if I can't get the header and footer to work I'll be forced to use another builder.
I can send you my login credentials if you want.

Did you create the header and footer with Brizy or with Astra builder? Did you activate the Default template for the Brizy pages or the Brizy template? If you want to use the Astra header and footer, use the Default template. See here.
Best regards,
Sandra0 -
With Astra, as far as I know there is no free headers and footers in brizy.
I followed your advice but now the page is not full width, tried many options but couldn't make it to be full width

Yes, in such a way is displaying the Default template because it is a theme template. It allows you to display the theme header and footer and also structure the page in 3 sections: header, the container for content and footer. In the second section, as I already said, is created a container where is added the Brizy content. Unfortunately, we can't manage or customize how theme display the Brizy content when using the Default template. If Astra has other templates like Full Width, you can try to test it.

Sandra0 -
I already set the options in astra to full width, this is weird, works fine with elementor, so are you telling me there is no way to have headers and footers working with brizy free?

Hi,
No, I'm not telling this. For having the theme header and footer you have to use the Default page template. If you don't want to see those white space around the container for Brizy content, you can add some custom CSS for this. I would like to provide the custom CSS but here on the Brizy Support, we don't have enough time to check the CSS of the theme and provide the custom CSS.
Let us know if we can help you with something else.Best regards,
Sandra0 -
I don't know what to tell you, I'm stuck with this problem, I need more help, I think to have a header and footer is a basic thing, and I'm not being able to get right, is there any alternate way?

Hi,
Yes, in Brizy Free we don't have available the Header and Footer feature but we have the Menu element. You can use it to create the header and footer. See here a video regarding Brizy Free Menu.
Best regards,
Sandra0
