Accessing overlapped columns and shuffle between elements

There is no way to access control over columns or elements when they are positioned under another element with an higher Z-factor. The little round control button in the upper right corner should be moved to the middle to solve the problem. Alternatively, upon activating the line around the element, holding down the "alt" key could activate the control menu.

There should also be an hierarcical overwiev over all elements of one row/column in the left, black menu. Then one could reposition all elements within the row or column, not only shuffle between rows.
