Dynamic Post Template Set to display conditions for a category on single post template type

I have 2 categories on my site 

one of these post Categories is using ACF fields (not a custom post type)

The other is a standard post type using normal Wordpress fields

 

i can get the post archives to display for each category

 

i want to get the posts which open from the archive links to use a specific template for the single post types and not just be set to all

is there a way to filter which templates are used specifically on single post types with a specific category

 

the only way I can get to work is to assign the template to specific pages which defeats the reason of using templates for blog post really

  Hi,

  Unfortunately, at the moment isn't possible to create a template for posts from one category and another template for posts from another category.

  That’s a real shame as I thought that would be something which is really important to use with dynamic content like blog posts.

  Is there a method to create a custom post type to achieve the same result?

  At the moment isn't a method to create a separate template for posts from a certain category.

  I worked out a way to get it working I think

  I set the archive template to display on all archives

  then I set the single page to display only on the custom post type - all

   

  that means other category archives can be more specific on the template archive filtering and the single page templates can be set to posts - all and this doesnt affect the custom post type - all

   

  would only be good for 2 dynamic areas on the website so be nice to see this single page filtering on your roadmap (puts me off getting lifetime licence)

  Yes, but in the first message, you say that you didn't create the Custom Posts Type https://jmp.sh/yll74hQ but in the last message you said that you have created Custom Posts types. :) It creates a small confusion.

  If you have a Custom Post type created with ACF, for example, "Cars", yes, in this case, you can create a specific template for single posts from "Cars" and another template for all single posts created in classic WP. But here is a bit different situation because here the category of the posts is not important.

  +1 for the ability to apply different single templates to posts with different categories.
  
  It would be great to avoid having to make custom post types as described above for different single templates. Especially since Brizy does not currently allow for displaying dynamic content from custom post types like it does for regular Wordpress posts, so this prevents one from having archive templates for custom post types. Having one or the other of these functionalities would make Brizy SO much more powerful!

  I was pointed to this post after asking for help on this same issue on FB. I have a lot of reworking now since this isn't possible. 😔 Such a simple thing would add so much.
