slider in header

starting with a picture in the background then make it a slider.  it makes me do 2 pics per slider?  the hover and actual.  is there a way to disable having 2 pics per slide.  thinking about load times.  I have 4 slides and so 8 wide pics in header.  4 would be much nicer.  

can we disable the hover mode?

  Hi,

  No, it isn't loading 2 images. It is loading a single image. You see for the hover of background the same image to let users the ability to change the image focus or images or make other changes. In the inspect element you can see that on the hover it doesn't declare the same class for loading the image for hover. It stays in the same class. See here.
