Styling lost, back to brizy default template
Hi,
I have live website where everything looks the way it was designed. However, when I want to edit a page with Brizy and it opens in the brizy-editor, everything is changed to the default brizy Overpass template (color scheme, fonts, etc.). I'm afraid if I save anything, everything will be overridden.
I've disabled other plugins and the problems remains. I'm afraid if I delete the cache it will build up a new cache from the wrong settings, so I'm very much afraid to empty the cache and haven't done that yet.
I've looked around the forum but couldn't find anything related. Any solutions?
Cheers

Hi,
Unfortunately, it isn't possible to edit with Brizy a page that is already created with another page builder or the theme. What is the tool you use before? If you already clicked on "Edit with Brizy", try to go back in the WordPress editor https://jmp.sh/yF7Re5A
Theoretically, you have to revert to WP editor.Best regards,

Hi Sandra,
Thanks for your reply. I never used another builder on this website. It is 100% build with Brizy.
Are you REALLY sure I should click "back to WordPress editor"? Because if it overwrites anything I risk the chance that the stylesheet is overwritten and everything will look wrong on a live website.
Looking forward to your reply.

Ok, thank you for the update. In this case, could you please give more details regarding this action "when I want to edit a page with Brizy and it opens in the brizy-editor, everything is changed to the default brizy Overpass template (color scheme, fonts, etc.)."?
What was your previous action before encountering this problem?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Sandra0 -
There is no previous action. This is the sequence of actions:
- I just opened the website today: restaurantblauw.nl
- Everything looks fine.
- In the admin-toolbar I click on "Edit page with Brizy"
- The brizy editor loads up but everything now has the color scheme and fonts of the default Overpass brizy template (I am specifically talking about the Brizy Global Styling feature as shown here https://www.brizy.io/design/).
- I do not save anything and just close my browser.
In the past few days I haven't edited anything on the website.
Thanks for looking into this :)

Did you create a page where you add a Layout? When you import that Layout did you set up the option "replace Global Styling"? https://jmp.sh/Wo1diuN If you selected this option that in all Brizy pages will be replaced the styles from that layout. To revert to the previous styles on a page, you have to go to that page and select the previous Style https://jmp.sh/uwWjfW2.
Thanks!

- No, I've never done that or used the "replace Global Styling"-feature.
- Just to be sure I've clicked through every single style available, but no style has my style. They are all on default settings. My own style is just gone.

Please understand that once the lifespan of my cache is due, all pages will be in the wrong style and look horrible. Therefore, this request has some urgency from my side :)

Hi,
I'm sorry for the last response. We tried to reproduce this problem to understand the cause of this problem but we can't reproduce it and for this reason, it is complicated to find a solution for it. Therefore we suppose that this problem was caused by a plugin or the theme. If this problem will happen again, please inform us regarding this.
Thanks!Best regards,

Thanks for looking into this. Too bad we couldn't find the cause. I just hope it was a one-time freak accident. It took quite awhile to completely rebuild the styling and check (and in some cases fix) 42 pages and 4 Brizy Templates. Fortunately everything looks normal again now.

Great to know that all is fine now! If this problem will happen again, please inform us regarding this.
Have a great day!Best regards,

I had the same problem on two sites. I used the Brizy Default style and customized it with fonts and colors. I created new text styles as well. But now, when I open Brizy Edit, the current style returns to the original setting, it changes to Overpass Style. Even though I switched to Brizy Style, it lost the configuration I had done before, so I can't edit anything because if I save it, I will lose my style configuration. I had done this before and I had to configure everything again, but it is a big problem to have to do it always ... Is it a bug? I need a quick solution, as I have been pressured by my customers.

Hi,
I'm sorry to say but Brizy builder can't delete or ignore some modification you made inside the builder. Did you save modifications you made on the "Brizy default" style? If so, then I suggest going to the Styling and select the "Brizy default" instead of "Overpass" https://jmp.sh/9oEmErV.
Also, could you please check if you have the latest updates for Brizy Free 2.2.8 and Brizy Pro 2.2.5?Thanks!
Best regards,

Hi Sandra. I had used the standard Brizy style, but it returns to its original configuration and switches to Overpass. My Brizy is not updated because when I update the plugin, the style settings return to the original mode. The version of Brizy on the websites is 2.2.0 in both plugins (free and pro).

Hi,
At the moment, do you have the style configuration you set and you want to be set? Could you please make a site backup and then update Brizy Free and Brizy Pro to our latest updates (Brizy Free 2.2.8 and Brizy Pro 2.2.5). After this check the styles, are they the same you set? If you notice that the style you set-up in the "Brizy default" style is gone, could you please temporary deactivate all external plugins (except Brizy Free and Brizy Pro) and activate a WordPress default theme? Do you receive the same problem?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Sandra0 -
Hi. I updated it, but the style went back to the original configuration alone after the update. I have disabled the other plug-ins and have already used the default WordPress theme. And now, when I try to edit the page with Brizy, I can't, because there is a problem. It shows this error message: "something went wrong".
When I edit the standard Brizy style, do I just need to save the page or do I need to do something else? Should I use Save Layout?0 -
Hi,
Thank you for all these details!
I have created a private ticket for this request. You had to receive a notification regarding this by email. Could you send us in that private message the WP credentials to this site? We want to check this issue. Thanks!
Best regards,

Hi Sandra. I replied the email.

Same issue happening here. I overwrote the Overpass with my own colors, fonts, font styles and custom font elements. Now my site is just default Overpass, the WORST part is the custom font elements are gone so everything that was a custom font element has auto-reverted back to ...some "custom" configuration even without a save.
What gives here?

Hey Raymond/Anyone - did you get a resolution to this?
It has just started happening to me on a WaaS install and users are logging in to their sites only to have colours going back to "overpass"

Hello!
Please make sure that you are using the latest Brizy plugin versions, which are 2.3.18 for Brizy free and 2.3.14 for Brizy Pro.
Try to fully reinstall plugins (deactivate, remove, install again)
Clear the website cache and check your page again.
After it, go to Settings --> Permalinks and push the save button. In general WordPress settings, I mean.
Let me know the results.
Kind regards,
Mihail

Hey Daragh,
No I did not because we are not in a position to give our admin access to our site to vendors. A screen share was apparently an unacceptable option.
So I had to goto dozens of pages and reset: colors, typography and then reset the theme to what we had (or close to what we had).
