How do you move a text element to a new location in your layout?

I don't see any way to drag a text element to a new location. I tried hovering to see if the pointer would change, as it was shown in a video where a button was duplicated and moved to the bottom of the page. I've tried, shift, alt, command, control while trying to click the object. Nothing seems to work to select the text element so you can drag it. What am I missing?

Yes, that does work for me. I see what I was doing wrong now. I had clicked inside the text element which had placed a blinking cursor in the element for editing. Then when I tried to drag it would just highlight the text for editing. I guess I was looking for a visual cue that I could start dragging, but that cue doesn't appear until after you start dragging. I feel rather silly now.
