Question re Server Sync

Brizy Team,

 

Hello, I hope you are all doing well. I am new to the Brizy community and had a question about the server sync functionality.

Due to my need / desire to utilize a number of WordPress plugins, I believe the best option for me is to utilize the Brizy WordPress plugin for my main site which is currently being hosted at GoDaddy (and will be migrated shortly). If that is my plan, does it make sense for me simply to build out my pages via the plugin, or could I benefit from building in Brizy Cloud and pushing updates to my WordPress site via Server Sync?

Is what I described (pushing updates to my WP site via Server Sync) even an option?

  Hello Randall,

  No, I'm afraid Server Sync only works with projects created on Brizy Cloud, which is NOT WordPress based. The way Server Sync works is that it exports HTML / CSS / JS and copies these files to your own server, so the site is served to your visitors from your server. But the editing part remains to be done in Brizy Cloud platform.
  
  As you can see, this doesn't run on WordPress, so it can not be used as in your scenario. But if you only need Wordpress, than you can use Brizy Wordpress plugin together with hosting from one of our partners: https://www.brizy.io/hosting-partners/

  Hi Bodgan, thank you for your very thorough answer. I am curious what is the benefit of server sync vs just connecting your domain? Its sounds like it's the exact same thing just different ways of achieving the same result, am I missing something? Thank you very much. I hope your having a great day.

  Hi,

  The Server Sync and Custom Domain (which allow you to connect the site with your domain) method are different. The major difference is that using the Server Sync method, the site is hosted on your server but publishing the site with Custom Domain method, your site is hosted on our servers. Therefore, with the Custom Domain method, we offer you the hosting to your sites. Another difference is that the Server Sync method is absolutely free while the Custom Domain is a Pro feature (having a Free account you can publish with Custom Domain only one site). The third difference is that you have the Pro license and you published with Custom Domain your sites, you will have the hosting for one year. If you will want to continue having the Brizy hosting you will need to renew the license.
