    Hello  Mike!

This is a known issue. The team will work on this improvement in a very near future.

    Hi Mike,

Do you want to keep the styles copied from mustseeholland.com/dutch-mountains/ or do you want Brizy styles to be applied automatically when pasting text?

If you want to keep the copied styles then you will not be able to do that. This is an issue that my colleague Natalia was talking about.

But, if you want the copied text to automatically take the styles from Brizy then there is something strange on your site.

Firstly, styles are automatically applied when copying / pasting external text. Use the keyboard for this ctr+c ctr+v: https://jumpshare.com/v/DlemdNhTzh5yGyeddai4

Secondly, the options you have on right-click in Brizy builder refer to the builder actions only: https://jmp.sh/N9mpQV7 You can't copy an external text and paste it using the click right on the builder. It is strange to me that it allows this for you.

This makes me think you have an old version of Brizy. Please make sure you have Brizy Free 1.0.124 and PRO 0.0.41.

After that, a simple copy & paste with the keyboard will allow you to use text from other sources.

Thanks for this reply. I do not need to keep any styles. I just want the text pasted in and fit whatever style is specified by Brizy as the font for that box. I also don't want any of these weird line breaks in the middle of sentences.

I tried in a fresh WP installation with just brizy as plugin and it still does the same thing. So something is wrong with pasting anything in. I do use ctrl+c and ctrl+v to copy and paste. That's where I have the issues.

Here it is again with me trying to paste in text with this new fresh brizy/wordpress installation https://www.screencast.com/t/znnS0q0k8l0

Is this something that can get fixed?

    Hi Mike,

did you see this screen recorder: https://jumpshare.com/v/DlemdNhTzh5yGyeddai4 ? I do the same thing as you and it works well for me.

You have not confirmed the presence of the latest Brizy versions. Can you please confirm you have Brizy Free 1.0.124 and PRO 0.0.41? Also, try to switch to another theme and disable all external plugins.

I don't have the pro version of brizy because I don't want to buy it yet unless I know this can work. But I do have latest version installed of the free one. Are you saying that I need to buy the pro for pasting to work correctly?

I don't have any other plugins installed.

What I notice is that pasting things in is never consistent. Examples
    1. I paste the text from https://www.panynj.gov/bridges-tunnels/en/holland-tunnel/history.html (4 paragraphs) into brizy and the font DOES format correctly, BUT, it bunches all text together. https://www.screencast.com/t/m8Hou6cSYSt  like it removes all P tags. It does this for everything I paste in that actually works (font-wise).
    2. I paste 3 pargraphs from here https://mosaic.org/About and the font does NOT format correctly. The only good this is it does keep the spacing between paragraphs.
    3. If I copy anything from WORD, even paragraphs with no formatting or styles applies, it doesn't work. Same issue... it loses the default brizy font and looks all strange.

If you have a private email I can send you a word document to test out yourself. Tons of people using word to write things and then paste them into the site or copy and paste from other websites into theirs. That's why this is important. The default wordpress editor does a great job at this while brizzy seems not to work well in this regard. Hopefully that can be remedied 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi Mike,

1/3 that's because Brizy doesn't keep styles. Thus, the paragraph is not copied and the text is added without spaces. We know this and will fix it in one of the next updates.

    2. I copied this and it's formatted correctly: https://jmp.sh/H5YS7WR It works because there are no styles or paragraphs here. Space is added by <br>: https://jmp.sh/1qeAziA

So, at the moment, you can copy text and paste it to Brizy. The Brizy styles will be applied, but you will have to work with the spaces manually. As a solution, you can copy a paragraph once. Not the whole text.

I was going to start a new bug report posting, but this is pretty close to an issue I am having.

I am copying from a Word doc and pasting into the fold-down of an accordion. This is for an FAQ.

Upon pasting, the sentences are broken into fragments with line breaks between them that make no sense, rather than continuous text. All the fragments except the last one are Custom Text (in the T tool).  The last one is Paragraph in the T tool.

I have to manually insert a space and delete the line break throughout the block  to consolidate the fragments and then apply the paragraph format.

The same thing happens if I go through Notepad (plain text).

    Hi Jack,

as mentioned above in the comments, we know about this issue. It will be fixed in the near future.

    Hi Alex,

I have a slightly different problem: Since I need to copy & paste HTML formatted text into the text element, I wondered if it is possible to keep the HTML-tags somehow. In other page builders  / editors I just switch to "text", paste it in, and then switch back to "visual" – and everything comes out fine: Example:

    <h1>Datenschutzerklärung</h1>
    <h2>1. Datenschutz auf einen Blick</h2>
    <h3>Allgemeine Hinweise</h3>
    <p>... </p>

This is quite important because I need to do this for the terms, privacy policy and so on (that is very very VERY long texts), and I don't want to adjust it every time.

    Best regards
    Lorena

    Hi Lorena,

Unfortunately, you can't do that in Brizy. At least for now. As a solution, you can add HTML tags to the Embed element. It is predestined for HTML and JS code.

    Hi Alex,

    thanks!

I already tried this, but unfortunately it is doesn't work with mobile/tablet adaptations.

So, I hope you will consider this for future updates.

    Best regards,
    Lorena

    Hey Alex,

It's been about 5-6 months since I put in the request to fix pasting of content into the site. It STILL is not fixed yet. Any ideas when this will happen? People paste content in all the time... a lot more so than just type in directly. So it's really important to get this fixed so whatever they paste in matches the style of the text assigned to the site.

    THanks!

    Hi Mike,

sorry for not getting back to you sooner. We all are aware of this and this has not been removed from the list. But, it is preceded by many other things where the whole team is involved, so fixing this takes longer.

    Hi There,

I am building a site at the moment which unfortunately is very text heavy.   I love Brizy and have chosen it above all the other well known builders.  This issue of having text lose its formatting is a BIG problem for me.  I have built most of the site for a client

but its looking like I wont be buying the pro version of Brizy and going back to one of the other builders.  This is a big time waster.

Is there no workaround for this?  My guess is that its super hard for the Build team to fix and they are just hoping it will go away. Apologies if that is incorrect.

    Very, very frustrating.

    Hi,

I'm sorry to say this but unfortunately, we don't have a solution at the moment :/. After copying and pasting the text, you need to format it manually. I understand your dissatisfaction and I know it is an important feature for you, but nothing has been implemented yet.

Based on the continued issue and activity on this thread, I want to re-emphasize my experience.

When I copy / paste content, I usually find that there are illogical line breaks inserted and, perhaps, line breaks lost.  This is even worse than losing formatting like bold or bullets.  It means going through the entire pasted text, line by line, inserted spaces and line breaks, or deleting line breaks.  Sometimes the line breaks are actually word wrap, so deleting them deletes the first letter of the next line.  There is no way to see if a new line is because of line wrap or because of spurious line breaks, since Brizy does not offer the text/html display available elsewhere.

    It's a painful, time-consuming inadequacy.

It needs to be fixed even more so that not transferring formatting, which also should carry over, but which is, at least, somewhat easier to fix.

Very sad to read Brizy's responses to this issue. I've been building non-stop on the pro version for a week now, and I'm shocked that text formatting is a nightmare on a page building plugin. I understand that dynamic content and marketing features are important to your business, but how can we publish content if fundamental formatting features do not work properly.

This text formatting issue must be a priority. I truly love this builder, but the responses above have slightly deflated my enthusiasm for my purchase.

If their builder isn't capable of this directly, they should at least make a button in the wysiwyg toolbar of a text area that is a paste button where a popup opens and you paste in the text, then press insert. Then it does the formatting it needs to and inserts it. Just having NOTHING seems unbelievable to me. I would have bought the PRO version if it had this feature but this feature alone stops me from using it completely.

    Hi guys,

I have collected all your messages and I will send them to the managers and we will discuss a possible prioritization of this feature.

Hope this gets fixed fast, it's really time consuming and drives me crazy to go trough the pasted text and add paragraphs and other formatting every single time..

    Hey Alex,

Curious about any progress on this important feature?

    Hi Mike,

I would like to have a positive answer to your curiosity, but unfortunately, I have no news in this regard: /

This is really unacceptable! My earliest contribution to this thread is 10 months old.

I have WP Pro and Cloud Pro.  I've signed on as an affiliate.

I was building a site this week.  I pasted in text and after that 2 click operation I had to spend an additional 5 minutes going to the end of every line in the display, inserting a space, hitting delete, making sure I hadn't deleted the first letter of the next word and then doing it all over for the next line.

Copy and paste is no longer rocket science. It's been around for 35 years.  Having Brizy insert random line breaks is just not acceptable and not believable.

On top of that, the pasted-in text, as detailed above, ends up with mixed formatting and none of the target box's formatting.

You have to fix this!  You can't seriously say other things are higher priority.  This is elementary computer use and it is not working.  I'm pretty sure that anything else you are working on is enhancements.  They can't be higher priority than fixing something that is broken.

thanks for your feedback. I will share it with the team).

Jack, I think the issue is they can't fix it and don't want to tell people. They want to hold out hope they will consider it but they never will. They would have fixed it already if they could. It's sad really since brizy has so much potential but this issue is a software killer.

We will fix it. It's just a matter of time ;)

    Two points:

    1. It's been 10 months.  This is a software killer.  Brizy has been doing some amazing stuff.  Bad copy / paste is not one of them. It has to be fixed - 9 months ago!

    2. This morning I copied some text from an email (in Thunderbird).  I suspect it was pasted in by the sender.  I pasted it into an existing text field, overwriting other text.  I did not encounter the line break issue.  A paragraph of several lines of text came in clean for the first time. So: it is possible!  And: maybe the developers can work from there!

Alex, I just don't understand why you keep telling people you will talk to the developers about it and fix it? Why would you have to share posts with the developers if they already know about the issue? It was a known issue a year ago and many people have brought it to your attention. Just tell us Brizy won't change and stop leading people on that someday it will be fixed. People are not looking for a fix in a year or 2. They want it now, after already waiting a year. Telling people 'it's just a matter of time' is purposely misleading because it gives people false hope it's just around the corner, when it isn't.

I understand your frustration but unfortunately, I can't have another reaction. We all know about this problem and we will definitely solve it but no one has an ETA for it. "It's just a matter of time" is not purposely misleading - you decide how to react to that :).

I propose to end this discussion here, as this will not hasten the resolution of the issue. I really want to help you with more, but believe me, I can't :/  The problem is known and we have no ETA for it.

I can't believe you can't paste text into text elements in a Wordpress page builder and have it keep the format of the element (e.g. H2) being pasted into. This is the most fundamental of all concepts with a page builder.
