Avoid duplicate font loading
Hi there,
I am using the Astra Theme with self hosted fonts. I live in Germany, so usage of Google Fonts is not an option (because of GDPR). How can I avoid, that Brizy load the fonts again?
An example: I upload "Source Sans Pro" to the Astra Theme. Now, I want to use "Source Sans Pro" in Brizy. I have only the option to use Google Fonts (permitted for me) or Custom Fonts (but then I have to include the some font twice)?.
I am looking for a way, to select a font in Brizy without uploading / including it.
Thanks in advance
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,
sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
The solution will be to download the Google font you use and upload it using the Custom Font option. In this way, it will be stored locally. When you upload it, you can name it differently and then select it for your typography styles. If a Google font is not set to any Brizy setting, it will not load.
Let me know if this worked for you.

Hi Alex,
thanks for your reply, but that's not a good solution. Because I had to add the desired font to my theme as well, I have to add this font twice. And even if I add this font as local font, Brizy is loading Lato by Google Font - even if not used.
I would need two things - load local fonts (or already added fonts) and somehow disable the loading of Lato. It would be great, if I could disable all Google Fonts with one click.
Best regards

Hi Sebastian,
Unfortunately, you cannot use theme fonts in Brizy and if you want to use custom fonts, you must upload them through our builder. If all your pages are created with Brizy, you could turn off the theme fonts.
In another post I created for you a ticket so please send us the login details there and we will stop loading Lato Google Font.

Hi Alex,
thanks for your reply. It's not a specific site that should be fixed, it is a general problem that prevents me from using Brizy for productive websites. So if you would provide an update that allows me to completely disable Google Fonts - that would be great.
Thanks in advance and best regards

Hi Sebastian,
Yes, I have already notified our developers about this and they are already looking at this problem.
Thank you for your patience :).

I'd also like to note that the use of google fonts needs to be optional in regards to GDPR.
