No one is ignoring anything Paul, we were off a couple of days with limited access celebrating the holidays with our family.

I've replied to your email already.

You need to set up where that template is applied from the template edit page - https://jmp.sh/7HtuH3p

    Hey,

Create a template that you apply it on your blog posts from here: https://jmp.sh/aFlHuDv

Select a new condition and press the Add button.

Publish your template from here: https://jmp.sh/0tyOeSH

Edit with Brizy to create the actual template by utilizing the dynamic WordPress options. They work like this (https://www.brizy.io/blog/brizy-pro-wordpress-dynamic-content/#dynamic-content - available only in Brizy PRO).

If you want to create a listing Template, use the Archive element that is available only when you create a Template.

This template will apply to all your posts or pages (selected in Conditions. You can edit those anytime.)

    Hope this helps.

(We are preparing videos on how to use the dynamic content to create custom blog posts.)

    Nice.

    It Works :-)

But as far as I can see, the post content can be edited only via the Wordpress editor not with the brizy editor, correct?

That is correct, this is the point of dynamic content. The date is inputed in WP and you dynamically apply a template on it.

You can edit a post with Brizy if you want, but you can't use the template on it at the same time.

hmmm. I still have a problem.

I can't define to display the template on a specific category only.

see attached screenshots. all is correct as far as i can see. but the template does not overwrite the standard themes blog category…

    Hello,

I have the same problem with the display conditions like Achim. By using only a (custom) post type as a "filter", everything works fine. But including or excluding taxonomies, like tags or categories (Wordpress default) has no effect.

Please update to the latest versions of Brizy Free and PRO.

In the last update we've introduced dynamic element, that you can drag from the sidebar for Post title, Excerpt, Post info, breadcrumbs. These elements are easier to work with as they will bring the post content in as well. Find them under the WordPress section of elements in the sidebar.

Make sure you have blog posts added in those respective categories. Does this issue appear only when you create a custom post type ? What plugin are you using to create the custom post type ?

It might be a bug, I don't rule that out. If you are up to the latest updates and it still doesn't work please submit a request from the top button. Someone from our side will take a deeper look.

Hi, having exactly the same issue here. I created this template and added the display condition to use it for the category "Produits (FR)". However, if I go to it, it shows the default template: https://dantasy.breynaert.eu/fr/fr/produits/impressions/

And you edit the template with Brizy ? and add an Archive element on the page ? to create the category blog listing ? and it doesn't work ? it should.

    - update to the latest version for the plugins

    - have blog posts in that category

Here is a video about blogging, dynamic content, maybe it will help : https://youtu.be/cWJEetL4f-s

    Hi Dimi.

Indeed, you are right. Selecting the category only works for archive pages, so you need to add the archive element.

If you want to address multiple posts at once, then you need to work with tags if I'm not mistaken.

This can be a good solution to address multilingual posts too, since the categories are just for archive pages.

    Hello Brizy Team,

Just thought I should mention that, 2 years later and this still doesn't work.

I am testing today, a new install, latest Brizy plugin and Pro.

I can add the template in the Brizy menu section. I can add the dynamic elements, and the regular Brizy elements. That all works fine.

I can add the Display Conditions, to a individual post or category. I have tried both Single and Archive. Each time I am clicking Update for the template.

In the related posts, they have the only option selected - Brizy Template (the other option is Default Template).

When previewing those posts they show the Default Template.

When viewing the posts they are blank pages.

This seems not ideal during the BF promotion. I can't buy it now because something that didn't work 2 years ago is still not working, and I was really trying to buy this.

Is this fixable, either from your end or a work-around on our side? A work-around is fine for now, as long as it works, and as long as you can confirm this is going to get fix properly.

    Thank you!

Hi I fail at the same or a similar problem. Did a template for pages. Super simple, just a simple header and footer and some space for page content. No dynamic fields or so. Just the right colors, fonts, etc. But it is not possible to apply this template to a new page. There is only the Brizy page template that can be selected. I don't understand why this seems to be so complicated.

    Hello Philipp,

Brizy templates help you to give a Brizy design for pages or posts that were originally developed using the Gutenberg Editor. Only when the content of a page or post is created with the Gutenberg Editor will the Brizy template design be applied to it.

If you edit a page or blog post using Brizy by selecting the "Edit with Brizy" button, the design added in the Brizy editor will take precedence over the Brizy template design.

Your Brizy page template design will not apply to any page which is already edited using Brizy and carries the "Brizy" tag.

Thanks for the quick answer. I think I understand, what you are saying, although this is quite confusing. I work only in the Brizy Editor (Edit with Brizy). All I need to have is the ability to save some complete page templates (or layouts) that I make myself to reuse as a starting point for new pages. But as far as I can see, I can only save sections and not a whole page layout. Sorry for asking this, but there is a lack of good documentation. Videos are helpful, but not when you need to search for specific answers ...

    Hello Philipp,

"All I need to have is the ability to save some complete page templates (or layouts) that I make myself to reuse as a starting point for new pages". This can be accomplished by creating your template design in one of the pages and setting each block in the template as "global".

Let's say your template has 4 blocks (or sections); you must set all four blocks as global. You can then set the Display Condition for your global blocks as below. Once you do this, all the four global blocks will be present in all pages that you create in the future.

Have a look at Global Blocks Mini Course - Part 1 for a more detailed explanation of global blocks.

Yeah that is what I wrote above. It is only for the blocks/section. But not for the whole page layout in one including header, content, footer. So for each page you need to add all the block again manually. So not the solution I am looking for.

    Hello Philipp,

For each page you don't need to add the blocks manually. Once you set a block as global and have added the Display Condition "Include - Pages - All", your global block will display in all your existing pages and also in all your future pages automatically.

I am sorry, but you don't seem to understand what I am looking for. I don't need this on all pages. Just a template or layout that can be applied to the desired pages with one click.

    Hello Philipp,

You can set appropriate Display Conditions for your global blocks.  Global blocks will be displayed in all pages if you set the following Display Condition, "Include -  Pages  - All"

If you set a different display condition like below, your  global block will display in just four pages. Please configure your display conditions according to your needs; you can configure on which pages each global block should appear on. To understand how global block works, kindly have a look at the tutorial I have suggested above.
