Form hidden field

I can't find any explanation on how to use a hidden field in a form.

My intention is to pass a URL string with a order_id and insert it in the form. If I got it right from other posts here in the support forum, this feature is currently suspended. 

Did I get it right? Or is there a way I can use the hidden field for that purpose. And if not, what is the hidden field for now?

  Hi,

  The hidden form fields can't store dynamically some data from the site or URL. You can set it with a predefined value and when a user will fill the form, this field will automatically be sent.
