Waas with domain mapped on the same network
Hi there, we see there was a similar question but maybe that the situation requested was not clear.
In your Q&A we find this:
You can create unlimited multi site WordPress networks and have unlimited clients purchasing your WaaS services.
We don't limit the WaaS license on the number of networks but on the number of domains.
You can have unlimited networks and installs but on 1 domain. For example you can create different WordPress multi site networks on different subdomains for different niches of your WaaS. As long as you are on the same domain you can have as many networks as you want.
Now the question is about the limitation for the on 1 domain.
In a WP Multisite we can choose for a domain set like:
example.mydomain.com
or
mydomain.com/example
or by Mapping feature we can ma a different domain instead of the 2 mentioned above solutiom where we will Map that the 3° level subdomain domain:
example.mydomain.com
become mapped with the different domain from the main one as:
example.com
In this situation, as you write there is one problem coz we are into a WP Multisite but we cannot use the waas brizy coz we have a mapped domain into the wp Multisite instead of the normal 3° level domain solution.
Is it possible to manage this situation? coz if is not possible many waas logic is not possible to apply with your waas service.
Other service do not limit domain but only that the mapped subsite domain MUST be into the same WP Multisite Network.
Thank U for a quick reply

Hi,
As was said in the article you make the reference to, the WaaS license is related to one WP Multisite network (one domain) where you can add and create as many sites as you want. Here you don't have a restriction. Therefore, you can choose the domain set of the multisite network you want.
In your message, I notice that you wrote this and I want to clarify some details
"or by Mapping feature we can ma a different domain instead of the 2 mentioned above solutiom where we will Map that the 3° level subdomain domain:example.mydomain.com
become mapped with the different domain from the main one as:
example.com"
When you publish a subsite in this way "example.mydomain.com", the main domain is the same "mydomain" and not the "example" because it is a subdomain of the "mydomain". For more details, you can check this external article.

Hi there,
we know how WP Multisite works but when we talk about domain mapping we mean that on WP-Multisite with mapping when you create a subsite as:
example.mydomain.com
you can change this 3° level domain with whatever 2° level domain you want like in our example:
example.com
This is coz WP Multisite treat these 2° level domain example.com as an alias for example.mydomain.com
and every domain work on the same IP on the same network thanks to the domain mapping WP Multisite feature.
Now, if your limitation is for one domain for wp-multisite license it is not converging with wp-multisite and WaaS business model coz on WP Multisite our customer could ask to point the domain example.mydomain.com to a custom domain example.com and, at this point, we are not able to satify their request.
Could please consider the limitation for WaaS license on a WP-Multisite installation basing it on the Server IP instead of the domain name?
This let us and all companies that work based on WaaS business model to really adopt your WaaS solution on their WP-Multisite Network on the same Server IP without limitation of domain name.
Thank U for considering our suggestion.
Best regards
AiliA S.r.l. Team

Hi,
Thank you for all these details and clarifications.
Could you please give us more details about this limitation you found? What problems did you encounter? What Brizy features are working and what aren't? How is it manifesting the Brizy builder? Did you encounter some errors? Could you please send us a screenshot of the errors you encounter? How did you map the domains? What is the method you are using?
Thank you!

Hi Sandra,
Actually we have bought the lifetime license and we are considering the WaaS subscription to use it on some project we are working on so we have not still installed the Brizy plugin to avoid fadding tables on the Database.
First we need to understand if the WaaS solution is compatible with the ecosystem we have created for our customer.
We will show a direct EG:
On the IP we installed a WP Multisite where the main domain actually is moneydefender.net
the structure we choose for subsites is:
subsite.moneydefender.net
Under the maindomain we have created differend subdomain and, after the subsites is created we simply modify the subsite
subsite.domain.net
into
domain.it that is on the same IP and is managed by WP Multisite as an alias of subsite.domain.net
As u see domain.it is not a 3° level of domainnet (the main site) and it work correctly thanks to the native WP Multisite domain mapping feature.
As your limitation for your WaaS with a single domain instead of the WP Multisite IP, for our example , we could not use your WaaS solution coz all those aliases will be treated by your system as a further domain instead of the single IP Wp Multisite network.
Please, do not show this sensitive data into the public tread

Hi,
Thank you for all these details and your cooperation. I'm sorry to say but the Lifetime license isn't specifically for the Multisite network. If you want to create a DIY website service, we recommend getting the WaaS license. This one was designed and build for the multisite network. More details about the WaaS license and service you can find in these articles.
Thank you!

Thank U for your reply Sanda but it seem we are not able to be clear in our request.
We know that we need a WaaS license to manage wp multisite network but our question is a presale one.
if we do not solve this question we cannot use your WaaS license coz with the limitation we explained you have in your waaS license on the domain instead of the single server IP your WaaS are not able to satify our needs.
We have already read the WaaS license and this is the reason for what we are asking to clearify this limitation

Hi,
Thank you for all your messages, cooperation and all these details. In the first instance, we thought that you received an issue on the WaaS license then we discussed it a bit deeper with the developers and managers and yes, we found that at the moment, Brizy will not be working with the mapped domain on the multisite network. I will create a post request for the team and they will investigate it more deeply if it is a possibility to implement an improvement to allow mapped domains.
Thank you for your patience!
Best regards,

Thank U, so we will wait to understand if we can implement Brizy as a solution to create landing page for our customer asap we will be sure that mapping domain & brizy works correctly as for the 3° level domain.
Please update us when WaaS Brizi license limitation will be for the WP Multisite Network IP and not more on the single domain.
Thank U

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I can't promise that this will come soon. It is a bit complex suggestion and this means to check the current behaviour of the WaaS license and find a solution on how to implement the mapped domain. Also, at the moment we have other improvements, fixes and feature we have already in the "To-do" and "Next To-do" list and this feature request received a low priority. I can't say we will release it or when it will be released but I can say that we will investigate and check this feature request.
Best regards,

Hello!
Any updates on this question?
Because domain mapping for WP Multisite is very requested and required option.
