Too many files
Hello brizy-Team,
I have the following problem: brizy created roughly 30.000 files from 1.600 files in my media section. Since we are hosting more than one site, we reached the maximum of allowed files by our provider.
I'm not quite sure, that there are not old files (images) in the brizy folder, since you wrote on your site, that brizy is creating only 6 images from one image in the media folder. But when I check the brizy folders, I see many subfolder for postings, where the images are sorted by the size, that they are used on the page. So I think that there are far more copies of one image - and maybe even old images, that are no longer used.
So, is there some solution to clean this up a bit?
On the other hand, we don't need necessarily brizy on ALL of the WP installations, so what happens if I deinstall brizy?
- will my WP page still work?
- will the brizy folder be removed and the WP site, especially the media links, still work?
Thank you,
kind regards,
Tom

Hi,
Thank you for your message. We can recommend adding the WP Optimizer plugin and run it. It will help you to clean the database and cache from the site and in consequences, the site will load and work faster.
Regarding the images and Brizy Image folder - I can ensure you that Brizy creates only 6 image sizes for retina and non-retina desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Regarding old images that you no longer use - yes, you are right at the moment in the Brizy Image folder are stored also the images that you deleted and not use in the Brizy pages. Now, our team are working on a new functionally for the image and these old and not-used images will be automatically deleted from the Brizy Image folder.
If you have the multisite network and don't need to run the Brizy Free and Pro sites, you can deactivate the Brizy Free and Pro for that certain site but you can't delete it because the install of the Brizy Free and Brizy Pro plugin is made in the network admin and if you delete them from here, all sites will not have access to the Brizy functionality.
Best regards,
