Parallax judder when using Safari 14.x
Hi,
I just updated my website with parallax and all works well in Chrome and Firefox. But on Safari the scrolling produces a lot of judder. I've read in other places this may be an issue with Safari?
Any suggestions on how to fix or at least improve?

Thanks,

Hi,
I checked your site but I didn't encounter some inconveniences with the parallax. See here. Could you please send us a screen record of how it is working on your side? Also, could you please make sure that the browser cache is empty?
Thanks!
Best regards,

Hi Sandra,
I emptied the cache as you suggested but I still have the same issue. Here is a video: https://jmp.sh/G7j3Pqy
Note that I have tried on two different MacBook Pro systems. One is a 2020 system and the other is 2017. Both have 16Gb RAM.
When I load the pages on Chrome, this issue does not happen.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Anthony

Hi,
I checked your site on the iMac and all seem to display fine (as you can notice in the video I send you above). Could you please check if you have the latest Brizy Free 2.2.8 and Brizy Pro 2.2.5 version? Did you optimize images with ShortPixel? We recommend using this integration because it can optimize also Brizy images from the Brizy Image folder. Here you can find an article on this topic.
Also, could you please temporary deactivate all external plugins (except Brizy Free and Brizy Pro) and activate a WordPress default theme?
Do you see the same problem?
Best regards,

Hi Sandra,
I'm confirming that I am using Brizy Free 2.2.8 and Brizy Pro 2.2.5, and I have now optimized my images with ShortPixel.
I went to default theme and deactivated plug-ins, but I still have the same issue only with Safari. Is there a command or other method where I can deactivate Parallax if the browser is Safari? Only 6% of my users are on Safari.
Best regards,
Anthony

Hi,
Thank you for these details. I checked again your site on Safari on my iMac and all is working fine. See here. But also I tested on the MacBook Pro and this is a bit strange because there I encounter the problem you reported but a bit light as in your screen record. I can suppose that this can be related to the CPU level. Unfortunately, the parallax can't be disabled for some browsers.
Best regards,

Hi Sandra,
Thank you for your promptness and great support. I agree this is most likely due to CPU loading. As Safari users are only 6% of my website visitors and the problem does not appear in all cases, I think we will be able to manage this. So I'll consider this case closed.
Best regards,
Anthony
