Better accessibility options within Brizy Cloud
Hello, we are a new Brizy Cloud (lifetime Pro) subscriber and while migrating our first website to the cloud I found a lack of web accessibility options when authoring content. This makes it impossible to add the necessary attributes to meet web accessibility guidelines. For our needs being able to reach high or perfect scores is imperative to attract clients, since it is a selling point for website services.
Before recreating the page in Brizy Cloud these were the lighthouse scores for the site being migrated:

After the migration we are happy with almost all of the scores but saw a drop of 11 points on the accessibility score. This is due to the web interface not having some key features. From what I'm seeing so far here are things that we cannot do:
- add alt tags
- add title tags to links
- add aria labels
If we are missing something and these do exist could you please point us to where we can find them? If they don't exist, do you have a roadmap for when you and the team feel these features will be added? Or a beta tester group?

Hi,
Thank you for your message and feedback.
Alt tags - this option is already added in the Brizy Cloud for the Image element. To set-up the Alt attribute you have to access Settings -> More Settings -> Advanced. Here, at the bottom, you will find the "Alt Title" option. See here.
Link title attribute - we have added it to your internal list this suggestion and our team are investigating it.
Aria label - it is already added for some Brizy elements that don't have visible the string. See here.
Let us know if we can help you with something else.
Best regards,

Hello Sandra, thank you for responding. I realized from your post that the field for the alt attribute was hidden by the Brizy Cloud interface a bit. The floating menu to save/update covers that field when it's docked to the right on smaller displays makes it difficult to see. I was initially working on a Surface laptop and couldn't see the bottom options under Advanced until I docked the advanced settings to the left. That field helps some with raising my score, thanks.
I haven't seen an ability to edit the aria-label yet, but haven't used all of the components in a site. It would be good to have that expanded to also allow labeled by to be used so I can use existing text in the page as a label. I've found that to be very useful and it's part of the recommendation for how to implement ARIA tags.
Also, is adding legend options to forms on the roadmap?
Is there a place to track or get updates on when these features will be available?
Thanks!

Hi William,
Thank you for your message and reply. Great to know that you encounter the Alt attribute for the images.
Regarding the "aria-label", at the moment, the users can't customize or add the aria labels for the different Brizy elements or components. We already added this request to our "Feature request" list and our team will investigate it.
Unfortunately, at the moment, these feature requests are available in our internal feature request list. When we will have a complete vision of them, we will add in a public roadmap.
Thank you!
Best regards,

Hi,
I'm also interested in having the possibility to add title tags to links and make them underlined by default. It is necessary to be compliant to wcag 2.1 AA - which is mandatory for websites in public services.
I really love all the features of your toolbox, so it would be really great to have this opportunity to improve accessibility for websites built with brizy.
Thank you so much in advance!
