I have problems adding a custom domain to my website

Hej,

I have read through the article on how to add a custom domian, but I am still not able to do it. I try to follow the step by step instructions, but I don´t really understand the webhosting services, where my domain is registered. I would be very thankful for help with that.

    Hello Helena,

    A whois lookup of your domain healingwithatree.com shows that it is registered with OVH sas. Do you have an account with https://www.ovhcloud.com/? If so, kindly refer to these articles for help on adding the required A Record and the CNAME record

    If the above documents are not detailed enough, kindly approach their domain support for help on adding the A Record and the CNAME record.

    Hello Helena,

    Usually the host name for your CNAME is www. Here is an example.

    it did work, this is not the www but the points to field in english... 

    but the website is online now...

    1 What do I need to do to insert a cookies consent manager?

    2 do I need to name brizy as the hosting provider on the data protection page? Is there a ready phrase for that?

    Hello Helena,

    You can add the Cookie consent embed script under CMS > Project Settings > Code > Code Injection > Header

     

    You can consider a cookie consent provider like https://www.cookieyes.com/

    When you say data protection page which specific page are you referring to? Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy or another document?

    I don´t knwo if you are the right person to ask this question to, but maybe you know: How do I know if my website actually needs a cookie consent manager? If I have no contact form peolpe could fill in and no embedded videos or anything like this, do I still need this? Because of google analytics maybe?

    Hello Helena,

    Brizy Cloud uses 8 "Local Storages" which are treated similar to cookies in GDPR and other privacy laws. Have a look at https://support.brizy.io/hc/en-us/articles/7421688586385 for a list of "Local Storages" Brizy uses. Getting consent from users is mandatory and you will need a cookie consent widget.

    Hello Helena,

    Let me answer your questions.

    1. Google tag manager is not integrated with Brizy Cloud natively. It can be added by you, if you need it. 
    2. Brizy Cloud is hosted in the US
    3. Brizy Cloud does not come with an analytics software and it does not track user visits. Several Brizy Cloud users add this to their websites as embed script.
    4. We maintain server logs which keeps a record of the server events.

    Dear KC George, 

    could you also help me  embed the privacy policy in my page? I am not sure which option i should choose...

     

    i can embed it via different ways (sorry for all the german):

    embed as a code (1. photo)

    embed as iFrame (2n photo)

    embed as link (3. photo)

    which option should I choose?

    Consider these

    • Brizy Cloud uses PHP technology. You can say you use PHP.net
    • If you have added a map in any of your pages, you are using Google maps.
    • If you have a form on any of your pages and you have enabled reCAPTCHA for the form, you are using Google reCAPTCHA
    • If you have embedded a Vimeo or YouTube video on any of your pages, then you are using these services

    thanks for that information. i don´t have a form and no embedded video oder google maps... so it´s only that one...
