Templated header and footer

Hi, 

Al my pages are already build wit a header and footer. But i would like to change that to a header and footer built in templates. I ony ws wondering how to go about it before i start. 

Will i have to make a seperate template for headers and a seperate template for footers? 
Will the page information then automatically add to it?

  Thank you for contacting us.

  The best recommended approach is to create a global header and footer. You don’t need separate templates per page, once set as global, they can be reused across the entire site. For more details, please refer to this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fdd4MlvuxC4

  Your page content will automatically appear between the global header and footer. We suggest testing this on one page first, then removing the existing headers and footers from other pages once you’re comfortable with the setup.
