Audio elements not playing reliably (Chrome/Firefox)
Hi Brizy Support,
I’m seeing issues with audio elements. As an example, please check this page: https://www.scodio.de/kai-pop-opera-esc-2026-challenge
- There are many audio elements with pop-ups (100+), but the problem also happens with fewer elements. So it seems independent of the number of audio elements.
- In Chrome: only some audio elements play, and which ones work changes each load. It never plays all without reloading the page multiple times.
- In Firefox: all audio elements start, but every track stops after about 3:30 minutes.
This behavior has been the same for a long time, both in our cloud setup and on WordPress.
Do you know why this happens, and is there a way to fix it?
Thanks a lot for your guidance!

Hi,
Thank you for contacting us.
The issue doesn’t seem to be related to the number of audio elements but more to how browsers handle audio playback.
In Chrome, the browser limits resources when too many audio players are loaded at once, which is why only some tracks start.
https://forum.cogsci.nl/discussion/9785/audio-playback-issues-with-google-chromeIn Firefox, this may be caused by how the browser buffers or how the server handles streaming requests.
To address this, link the audio to another page, or place it in a popup that opens when the user clicks a button before hitting play. This helps browsers manage playback more reliably.
Best regards,
