Custom Font not loading
Hi there,
i created a new wordpress page in a subdirectory and today i switched to live!
Everything works fine at the moment but my custom font (HK Grotesk) which worked well while working on the site is now when i went live a completly different font.
In the brizy editor the HK Grotesk font is showing correctly but not on my live site?
Following things i already tried:
Different Browsers (deleted cache, and so on)
changed to the twenty twenty-five theme and back
disabled all plugins except the brizy ones
recreated the permalinks
uploaded another font (woff2, ttf, wof) but also not working
but the font "HK Grotesk" is not loading?
Please can you help me with this issue
Kind regards
Bernd

Hi Bernd,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
If resetting the permalinks doesn’t help, please try adding the following directives to your .htaccess file
<IfModule mod_setenvif.c>
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
<FilesMatch "\.(woff|woff2|eot|ttf|otf|svg)$">
SetEnvIf Origin ":" origin_keepalive=1
Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*"
</FilesMatch>
</IfModule>
</IfModule>This will ensure that font files can be properly loaded across domains or subdomains, especially important for modern browsers.
Please try this and let me know how it goes.
Best regards,

Hi Ariel,
thank you for your fast response and added this to my .htaccess but nothing changed and the font is still not loading (different browsers and cleared caches and so on)
Can you have a look at my page?

Just found out that i get this error when using dev options
there is a 404 in the stylsheet where it seems that the font is not found
Maybe this can help you0 -
I have found a lot of errors in the console -
Also the font is not found and also some of the images - (bkp24 is the subdirectory where my wordpress files are)
I did some tests on the mainpage for the images where there is a GET 404 error and when i change the size of an image in the brizy editor or something like this, the error for the image is gone
Just to let you know - it looks like an error in the url or soemthing like this0 -
I have found this post and in my case it looks like that there is used the internal url and not the url as it should be?
https://support.brizy.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/21631818511890-brizy-media-is-not-correctly-updated-after-templates-published-from-yesterday0 -
Hi Bernd,
It looks like the site's configuration may be causing issues with Brizy. The WordPress-Adresse (URL) is set to https://www.berndkaeferboeck.com/bkp24, while the Website-Adresse (URL) is https://www.berndkaeferboeck.com. This mismatch can prevent certain resources from loading correctly, leading to missing files or broken previews.
A possible fix is to make both URLs consistent by setting them to https://www.berndkaeferboeck.com/bkp24 in WordPress > Settings > General, then saving permalinks under Settings > Permalinks. Clearing the cache afterward may also help.
Please try this and let me know how it goes.

Hi Ariel,
thank you and tried this and that solved the problem with loading the font and the images but now i have
a page called https://www.berndkaeferboeck.com/bkp24/
and not https://www.berndkaeferboeck.com
how can i solve this now?0 -
Hi Bernd,
It appears that the files are currently located inside the /bkp24/ subdirectory on your server. To make your site load from the main domain, you’ll need to move all the files to the root directory of your website.
If you need assistance with this, feel free to provide access to your hosting panel, and I’ll be happy to help you move the files and configure the site properly.
Let me know how you’d like to proceed.

Hi Ariel,
i tried it by myself to move the wordpress files to the root directory and now the font is still not loading and also some pages are not loading correctly (as example portrait and so on)
It seems that he is still searching for the subdirectory bkp24 (which now i renamed to bkp24-old)
is there anything that i have to replace urls or soemthing like this?
i also recreated the permalinks structure!
Thank you again0 -
Can you please check the webpage and try to resolve this issue

Hi Bernd,
I noticed that the site is running a bit slowly, this could be related to the recent migration. You can try using the Replace URL tool to ensure all internal links are updated correctly after the move.
However, I also recommend opening each page in the Brizy editor and re-saving them. This will allow Brizy to recompile the pages, which may help resolve any layout glitches that occurred during or after the migration.

Hi Bernd,
Thank you for the update, and I completely understand how frustrating this must be.
From what I can see, the issue seems to have started with an incorrect site migration. Some paths are still pointing to the previous folder, which is likely causing the 404 errors and missing files, including fonts.
If you're able to share access to your hosting panel, I’d be happy to take a closer look and help fix the issue for you.
Kind regards,

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Hi Bernd,
Thanks for waiting. We’ve fixed the layout issue, but I noticed an extra header on the inner pages. I wasn’t sure if it was meant to be there, so I left it. You can remove it by changing the display conditions if it’s not needed.

Hi Ariel,
thank you and i have seen that you renamed the folder to bkp24 (i renamed it to bkp24-old) which was the subdirectory of the installation!
So because i want to delete it i renamed it back to bkp24-old and then got again some issues the pages where css files could not be loaded (i think all css files which could not be loaded where about the menu) because the extra header you told me was back again after i renamed the folder bkp24 to bkp24-old
i tried to find out what is happening by myself ;-)
What was interesting is that on one site (Ablauf eures Tages) everything was working fine and on the other pages i got the error messages in the developer console and also the menu was different from the styling
what i found out that on every page where the css files were missing there were one or more blocks which were set to global (but i only made the header and the footer global) So i am not sure where this came from...
when i removed the global settings on the blocks because they are not neccessary the error of the missing css files are gone!!!
So as far as i can see there are no more errors from my side!
So maybe can you check the page once again if you find anything that is not as it should be!!
BIG THANKS to all which helped migrating my page...
And just one more question:
why is this setting no greyed out - just want to know?0 -
Hi Bernd,
Thank you for the update, and I’m glad to hear that things are working more smoothly now after you removed the unnecessary global blocks.
About your question, we had defined the Home and Site URL constants in the wp-config.php file. This was done to ensure consistency across the site, as some URLs were redirecting to https://berndkaeferboeck.com. Adding those directives helped prevent mismatches during troubleshooting.
If you'd like to update the site URL from the WordPress Admin in the future, you can simply remove the following lines from wp-config.php
define('WP_HOME', 'https://www.berndkaeferboeck.com');
define('WP_SITEURL', 'https://www.berndkaeferboeck.com');Once removed, the fields should no longer be greyed out in Settings > General, and you’ll be able to update the URL from the dashboard directly.
