    Hello Maria,

You can customize the excerpt length in your theme (if your theme allows it) if you have added your blog post content in the Gutenberg Editor and are stylizing your blog posts with a Brizy blog post template. See the attached image. You can also set the length of your excerpts by installing a plugin like Advanced Excerpt.

You must manually add an excerpt to each blog post to set the length of your excerpts if you have added your blog posts directly in Brizy (instead of adding it using the Gutenberg Editor).

    Thank you George,

I installed the Advanced Excerpt plugin and set the word length at 20 words, and still, nothing changed, the posts element still displays a huge excerpt

    Could you please help?

    Hello Maria,

Like I have mentioned earlier, excerpt length can be set centrally using your theme or a plugin only if your blog post content is added using the Gutenberg Editor. Can you please confirm if you have added your blog posts in the Gutenberg Editor?

    Hello George,

I set the excerpt centrally in my theme for 20 words, I am using Blocksy.

I tried to add post content using the Gutenberg editor, but it looks very different than the rest of the website made with Brizy, and when I press Edit with Brizy all the content I just made disappears and I am faced with a blank page in Brizy.

I also then tried to create a post in that blank page like in this tutorial:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gFhIZUleHw, but the content button described does not exist anymore in Brizy and it also doesn't take the feature image from Gutenberg...

How can I do this link between Gutenberg and Brizy or is there an easier option to do it directly in Brizy?

    Hello Maria,

After adding blog post content in the Gutenberg editor, you develop a Brizy blog post template in your WordPress Dashboard under Brizy > Templates to stylize your blog posts. Kindly avoid clicking the "Edit with Brizy" button after adding content in the Gutenberg editor. The blog post template you create under Brizy > Templates will take effect only if your blog post is not edited using Brizy and the content is still in the Gutenberg editor.

Kindly follow the procedure in the video you have linked above to develop a Brizy single post template. If you strictly adhere to the process in the tutorial, the excerpt length set in your theme will apply in your blog archive pages. If you are unable to make it work, please get back to us. We will take a look at your WordPress Dashboard to help you fix this issue.
