WP Carousel plugin is non-functional

i've installed the element on a new page (not post). set Dynamic Content to use categories "blog" (i have at least two; a new site). nothing populates. 

if i do this with the Grid element, "blog" posts populate properly.

Brizy & BrizyPro both up-to-date. WP, too. minimal plugins.

based on posts from the past few months, it appears this element is broken.

  Do you want to use the Brizy Carousel element to design a post carousel? Please follow the steps in the screen capture at https://jmp.sh/eee3I2OW and inform us if you are successful in making it work. Please provide us with further information about the problem if you are unable to make it work.

  the directions were perfect. seems like such things should be easier to find than via a multi-day help request.

  and even though i was using a new page, my first category did not work. i switched categories and it worked. went back to the original category, and now that works, too. weird.

  oh, and i added another text element for "post excerpt". that worked too. thanks so much!
