    Hi KC George,

I recently tested using the Archive block instead of the Posts block, but found that the filtering capabilities were actually worse—especially when using keywords like "services" or "blog."

For now, I’ve decided to stick with the Posts block, as its filtering seems slightly better (though still far from ideal).

Here’s the URL to the 404 page in question: https://beetledigital.com/404

As a side note, when I search for "services", the results are dominated by blog posts rather than service pages, which isn't the intended behavior.

    Appreciate any suggestions or insights!

    Thanks,
    Seb V

    Side note:

this is the result i get from using the archive block with the settings as: Filter by title, rather than using the posts block with the settings: current query/relevance.

    Hello Seb,

To improve the search quality, you could explore search plugins. Have a look at https://www.easywp.com/blog/site-search-plugins/ for a list of search plugins you could consider. Try setting up these plugins on a staging/test site first (before implementing it on a live site)

    Hey KC George,

Some plugins did help fix the relevance issue, but I’ve found that AJAX search lite and a few others keep reverting back to the Astra theme’s default search layout, instead of using the Brizy search results template I’ve set up. I’ve tried using both post and archive blocks in Brizy, but there still seems to be a disconnect in how the results are being displayed.

I did come across a workaround using Relevanssi and some custom PHP via a code snippet. It kind of worked, but it feels like a long and clunky way to simply display search results with decent relevance on a custom results page.

Any advice or direction on how to better connect the search query to a Brizy-designed results page would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Seb,

Please note that the default WordPress search relies on the database's built-in full-text search capabilities, which primarily indexes post titles, excerpts, and content.  Search plugins may have the ability to generate their own index, apart from WordPress's default index, which can contain a variety of content, including custom fields and custom post types. Using a widget or a shortcode, some search plugins may offer their own search bar; in such cases, please replace the Brizy search element in your Search Template with the plugin's search bar.

We do not know why you see the Astra theme’s default search layout, instead of the Brizy search results template. Do you want us to take a look at your WordPress Dashboard to troubleshoot this issue? If you do, please add a new user to your WordPress Dashboard and send the following details to our email: communitysupport@brizy.io

Please let us know  in this forum when you send us the email.
